Pres. Trump promotes tax reform

U.S. President Donald Trump says he is following through on a campaign promise, to move forward with a massive overhaul of the U.S. federal tax code.

Congressional lawmakers agree tax reform is necessary, but caution it is much too complex to be done quickly, as the President wants.

President Trump says he doesn't just want to simplify the tax code, he wants everyone to pay fewer taxes.

Obama slams DACA decision, in Facebook post

Former US President Barack Obama has slammed President Trump's decision to  phase out the program that protects individuals who arrived in the US as children of undocumented immigrants.

The Obama-era policy has allowed hundreds of thousands of young people to seek legal status to live, work, and study in the country in which they grew up.

Great love for dreamers - Pres. Trump

U.S. President Donald Trump wants the U.S. Congress to resolve the quandary over the Dreamers - children brought to the U.S. by their undocumented parents.

Caribbean, Florida brace for Hurricane Irma

Parts of the US are preparing for what's being described as a "potentially catastrophic' storm.

Hurricane Irma is expected to batter parts of the Caribbean over the next several days with winds of around 180 miles per hour [290 kph].

The category 5 cyclone is forecast to take aim at Florida by next weekend.

The White House is trying to firmly put the responsibility for reforming America's immigration rules into the hands of the U.S. Congress.

U.S. President Donald Trump has rescinded a program which gave undocumented children opportunities to earn work and study permits (DACA - Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals)

White House repeats call for denuclearized Korean peninsula

The Trump administration wants to use agressive measures to urge North Korea back to the negotiating table with the goal fo a de-nuclearized Korean peninsula.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that he thinks further sanctions are useless, while Pyongyang appears to be preparing another test missile launch.

The Trump administration is winding down an Obama-era program, putting almost 800,000 young immigrants on the path to deportation.

Duke and Duchess of Cambridge awarded damages over topless photos

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been awarded 120 thousand dollars in compensation by French magazine Closer, over topless pictures it printed of Kate Middleton five years go.


The court in Paris found that the photos were an invasion of privacy and awarded the Royal Couple 50 thousand euros each in damages.

Trump administration to end DACA immigration programme


US Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced on Tuesday that the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals legislation...known as DACA...will be scrapped.

The programme introduced by former US President Barack Obama shields so-called "dreamers" or young undocumented immigrants from deportation from the United States:

UN Food Agencies Advocate for More Help for Ethiopia
