There's significant disruption for thousands of commuters in London because of signalling problems at the UK's busiest railway station.

It happened on the day Waterloo Station re-opened after weeks of work to increase capacity.

Testing on the upgrade work revealed problems with signalling equipment.

Two year prison sentence for G20 rioter

A German court handed down prison sentence of two years and seven months to a Dutch man for his role in the violent riots during last month's G20 summit in Hamburg.

This follows a recent situation in India where a 10-year-old girl gave birth to a baby.

Pentagon confirms latest North Korean missile test launch over Japan

Trump pledges federal support to hurricane-devastated areas

American President Donald Trump has pledged billions of dollars of Federal Government money to help the rebuilding of areas devastated by Hurricane Harvey in Texas and Louisiana.

Floodwaters continue to rise in Houston and other areas along the Gulf Coast as the remnants of the hurricane dumps more than 20 inches of rain on the region.

Mr Trump told reporters that thousands of federal workers were involved in helping state authorities, but the over-riding priority at the moment was saving lives.

Trump Intends to Visit Hurricane Disaster Area

At least eight people have been killed in Texas in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.

Efforts are continuing to rescue those impacted by massive flooding in the city of Houston and multiple other locations in the state.

The flooding risk is also spreading into neighboring Louisiana.

President Donald Trump has decided to visit the disaster area on Tuesday.

He may also undertake a follow-up next Saturday.

Violence Breaks Out at Berkeley "Rally Against Hate"

More than a dozen people were arrested after a mass protest opposing a right wing rally turned violent in Berkeley California on Sunday.

Brexit talks in Brussels are off to a sour start.

The European Union's chief negotiator Michel Barnier says it's time these talks get serious.

He's accusing the UK of not providing specific solutions and stances to key issues.

That includes how to what to do along the border in Ireland, the status of EU citizens living in the UK and how much money the UK will owe the EU once it leaves.

While the UK hopes to start trade talks with the EU as it continues to hammer out these issues, but Mr. Barnier says divorce issues must be settled first.
