Six French soldiers injured in deliberate car attack in Paris

Six French soldiers have been injured after being hit by a car in the suburbs of Paris in what's being called a "deliberate attack".

The Paris police department says a hunt is underway to find the BMW car used.

Artist paints offensive tweets outside Twitter's German office

A German-Israeli artist has stenciled what he says are offensive tweets on the sidewalk outside Twitter's German headquarters in the city of Hamburg.

Social media networks have faced criticism for not doing enough to prevent hate speech on their platforms.

Australian senate stops government marriage equality plebiscite in its tracks

The Australian Senate has blocked a government move to restore the same-sex marriage plebiscite to its agenda following an emotional debate.
Labor, the Greens and the independent Nick Xenophon Team had the numbers to tie a vote at 31-all, meaning the move was defeated.

Trump advisers won't explain North Korea comments

U.S. President Donald Trump's top advisers are deferring to others to further explain what the American president meant by saying threats from North Korea will be met with 'fire and fury."

The Trump staffers had been hoping to focus on the burgeoning opioid epidemic in the United States, with the President laying out a strategy that emphasizes law enforcement amd border controls and not treatment for addicits.

The meeting came after the Washington Post reported, the internal U.S. military intelligence agency believes North Korea has built a miniature nuclear weapon which could fit on a missile.

Reporters asked adviser Kellyanne Conway to further explain the president's comments.

Country music legend Glen Campbell dead at 81

One of America's most successful country music stars, Glen Campbell, has died at the age of 81.

GE to build oil refinery in Uganda

General Electric, the American multinational corporation is to build and operate Uganda's first oil refinery.

The refinery -  initially expected to process 30,000 barrels per day starting in 2020 - is expected to spur growth of petro-chemical and other related industries in Uganda.

Trump leaks classified intelligence....again

President Donald Trump appears to have inadvertently leaked more classified intelligence, just days after urging the US Department of Justice to crack down on leaks.


The President, on Twitter, revealed that US spy agencies have spotted North Korea loading cruise missiles onto a patrol boat.
