Linkin Park singer dies at 41 in suspected suicide


Linkin Park lead singer Chester Bennington has died at the age of 41 in Los Angeles.

The LA County coroner says authorities are treating the star's death as an apparent suicide.

White House wants special counsel to focus on Russia

The inner circle at the White House wants special counsel Robert Mueller to focus solely on Russian meddling in the 2016 American elections.

Bloomberg reports, following comments by U.S. President Donald Trump to the New York Times, special counsel Robert Mueller has expanded his investigation to include the finances of the Trump organization, the family real estate business and other financial interests.

White House deputy spokesperson Sarah Huckabee Sanders says the focus should be only on interference in politics.

Pres. Trump disappointed in AG Sessions

The White House says U.S. President Donald Trump remains disappointed in Jeff Sessions but there is no plan to fire him.

Jeff Sessions told reporters he will serve as U.S. Attorney General as long as it is appropriate.

Earlier, President Trump told the New York Times, he would have picked someone else, if he'd known Jeff Sessions would recuse himself from overseeing the investigation into Russian meddling in American politics.

OJ Simpson out on parole in October

Former NFL star and one-time celebrity OJ Simpson will be released from a Nevada prison in October, after serving almost 9 years of a 33 year sentence for armed robbery.

In 1994, his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman were stabbed to death in Los Angeles, a murder case in which he was the lead suspect but at trial, OJ Simpson was acquitted in a case that transfixed America.

Now, his defense attorney Malcolm LaVergne admits, keeping the more than 20-year-old murder case out of the Nevada courtroom was a major achievement.

O.J. Simpson is expected to move to Florida when he is released from a Nevada prison in October, with Captain Shawn Arruti a parole officer of the Nevada Department of Public Safety says they are working on making sure he can serve parole in another state.

OJ Simpson to get out of jail

The former American football player, OJ Simpson has been granted parole.

It means he could walk free from jail as soon as October the 1st.

He was jailed on multiple counts for his part in an armed robbery in
Las Vegas back in 2007.

He claimed he was just trying to retrieve stolen items that belonged
to him, but was found guilty. He has spent the last nine years behind
bars.

This was the moment he found out he was granted parole from Connie
Bisbee on Nevada's Board of Parole Commissioners.

U.S. condemns Ukraine's 'deadliest day', calls on Russia to observe ceasefire


The US State department is condemning an outbreak of violence in eastern Ukraine, calling it the deadliest 1-day period in 2017.

Eight soldiers have died in the region where Ukrainian forces and Russia-backed rebels have been fighting for more than three years.

U.S. fines ExxonMobil over Russia dealings during Tillerson tenure

The U.S. Treasury Department is fining ExxonMobil two million dollars for violating sanctions against Russia, while U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson was in charge of the energy giant.

Improper business dealings were cited dating back to May 2014, shortly after the then Obama administration slapped sanctions on Russia, over its annexation of Crimea, and for stoking violent unrest in Ukraine.

Former monk extradited from US to Thailand to face criminal charges

Obamacare repeal would leave 32 million without insurance

The proposed Republican plan to repeal Obamacare would leave an additional 32 million Americans without insurance, according to the Congressional Budget Office or CBO.

For the first time, over half of those with HIV now receive treatment

The finances and deals of the Trump Organization, the family real estate firm of U.S. President Donald Trump, are now under review of the special counsel's office, according to Bloomberg.

In an interview with the New York Times, U.S. President Donald Trump warned investigation into his family company's dealings would be "out of bounds."
