This was the second time that the US Under Secretary of State and his Russian counterpart met to discuss the compounds in New York and Maryland that were seized by the US late last year, as part of President Obama's reaction to Russia's interference in the 2016 election — a reaction that also included the expulsion of 35 Russian diplomats.
