India's Army Chief heads to Jammu and Kashmir after terror attack on pilgrims

7 Hindu pilgrims were killed in a terror attack after gunmen opened fire on a bus. 

The Indian Prime Minister has condemned the attack to call it 'cowardly.' Security has been stepped up in the state of Jammu and Kashmir and internet services have been suspended.

Kashmir has been witness to several terror attacks in the last few years with gunmen often targeting security personnel. India claims a Pakistan based terror group carried out the attack.

Iberia airline will no longer require pregnancy tests for female job applicants

Spanish airline Iberia has agreed to stop requiring female job candidates to take a pregnancy test as part of the application process.

The airline was ordered to pay twenty-five thousand euros for gender discrimination.

India's Supreme Court stays cattle slaughter ban

For the next three months there will be no ban on the slaughter of cattle in India. The rule was introduced by the Indian government three months ago to nationwide protests.

This comes a relief for India's $4 billion meat export market as well as for those employed in the meat and leather industry.

Paris and LA present bids for 2024 Olympics

Paris and Los Angeles are presenting their bids to host the 2024 Olympics to the IOC in Lausanne on Tuesday - with a decision due in September.
But the two cities are the only names in the hat for 2024 and 2028 - meaning they're expected to be awarded an Olympics each.

Ukraine seeks NATO membership pledging reforms by 2020

Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko said his country will begin discussions with NATO on an action plan to get into the US-led alliance.  He said that Ukraine will work on reforms to meet membership standards by 2020.  The Kremlin said Ukraine's potential NATO membership will not boost security in Europe.  Julia Lyubova reports from Moscow.

CHARLIE GARD CASE SET FOR FRESH HEARINGS

New evidence will be presented in the case of terminally-ill baby Charlie Gard.

It follows a fresh court hearing on whether treatment abroad could improve his condition.
