Corbyn - May clash over public sector pay

Britain's Labour party leader Jeremy Corbyn has attacked the government of Prime Minister Theresa May over public sector pay, accusing the ruling Conservative party of flip-flopping on the issue.

It comes as a number of Cabinet ministers have let it be known they favour lifting the 1 per cent public sector pay cap, which was introduced in 2013 to try to bring down the UK's deficit.

In recent days Downing Street has issued mixed messages about whether the cap will be lifted, however Mrs May has insisted the government must keep a tight reign on public spending.

Jeremy Corbyn accused  the Prime Minister of exploiting the goodwill of public sector workers.
