Trump blasts obstruction of justice report

U.S. President Donald Trump has taken to Twitter to blast a report
that claims he's under investigation for possible obstruction of
justice.

Citing unnamed officials the Washington Post reported Wednesday that
this probe began after Trump fired former FBI Director James Comey.

Trump hits out at reports Special Prosecutor eyeing him for obstruction of justice

President Trump is expressing anger over reports that he's now being investigated for possible obstruction of justice.


The President is calling the investigation by Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller "the greatest witch-hunt in American political history".

US sends mixed signals with Qatar military deal

US President Donald Trump is hitting back against reports he is now under criminal investigation by the FBI, calling it the 'single greatest witch hunt in American political history'.

The Washington Post reports that Special Counsel Robert Mueller - now heading the bureau's probe into Russian interference in the US election - has opened a file on Donald Trump into whether he attempted to obstruct justice.

US and UK issue travel advisory on Ethiopia

17 fatalities in London tower block fire - more expected

Fire and police officials involved in the London tower block fire have said the death toll has now increased to 17, but there are likely to be many more fatalities.


Meanwhile 17 people are in hospital in a critical condition, but police refuse to speculate on how many people are unaccounted for.


Firefighters have worked through the night to dampen the building, while some of its residents spent the night in make-shift accommodation.


In the latest update London Fire Commissioner Dany Cotton has said her team are working to sure up the building for investigation work to begin, but it is likely to be a long process.

Roaming charges scrapped in the EU

An EU law abolishing roaming charges for using mobile phones abroad comes into force on Thursday.
The new rules mean people travelling within the EU will be able to call, text and use the internet for the same price they pay at home.

Eurozone ministers try to find deal on Greek debt

Finance ministers from eurozone countries are meetings in Brussels to decide whether Greece receives the next slice of bailout money in desperate needs.

Greek national debt currently stands at three hundred and fifty five billion dollars which is over 180 per cent of GDP.

London Fire Update: 12 dead, firefighters work through the night

In the UK, the search continues for loved ones who haven't been seen since a fire took hold of a 24 story residential tower block.


12 people have been confirmed dead, but it's believed the death toll is expected to rise.


The residents of Grenfell Tower have been left homless, with many having to spend the night in make-shift accommodation in a sports centre.


Firefighters have been working through the night to dampen the building, with the blaze described s unprecidented by fire chiefs.

Indian Supreme Court reviews cattle ban

India's Supreme Court will decide whether a cattle ban introduced by the Narendra Modi government is constitutional or not. 

The ban prohibits the sale of all cattle for slaughter. Critics have accused the Indian government of using this rule to protect cows- an animal Hindus consider holy. 

The ban has hit the $4billion meat export industry in India hard- with the supply of meat falling drastically.

US Congressman in critical condition after shooting

A US Congressman remains in critical condition after a shooting at a baseball practice in Virginia on Wednesday.

Republican Steve Scalise and four others were shot by 66-year-old James Hodgkinson. The shooter was shot by capitol police and later died.

US Senate votes to impose new Russia sanctions

US Senators have voted overwhelmingly to impose fresh sanctions on Russia over its alleged meddling in the 2016 presidential election.

Senators also voted 97-2 to set up a process by which Congress can block any attempts by the President to scale back the sanctions.

The new sanctions - which must still be approved by the House of Representatives - target Russians who have supplied weapons to the Assad regime in Syria, among other categories.

Republican Senator John McCain said Russia had to pay a price for its actions.

Donald Trump 'under FBI investigation'

US President Donald Trump is reportedly under investigation for potential obstruction of justice by the special counsel overseeing the Russia investigation.

The Washington Post reports that the FBI investigation into allegations of collusion between Trump associates and the Russias has now expanded to look into whether the US president tried to shut the investigation now.

Congressional baseball game expected to proceed

The Congressional charity baseball game is set to proceed, following the shooting of Rep. Steve Scalise and four others during an early morning practice (game is schedule for 7pm Thursday at Nationals Park).

The FBI is investigating James T. Hodgkinson III for anti-Republican sentiments.

He died shortly after responding officers shot him.

Representative Joe Barton coaches the Republican team and expects no problems for the charity event.

Apple Confirms Plans For Autonomous Cars

Apple's chief executive Tim Cook has confirmed the company is
developing a self-driving car system. In an interview with Bloomberg
news in the US, Cook said Apple sees autonomous vehicles as the mother
of all artificial intelligence projects.

WHO confirms 2 new polio cases in DRC

The World Health Organization has confirmed two new cases of polio infections in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and warned there's a high risk it could spread within the country.
