Pres. Trump makes accusations; more testimony to come

U.S. President Donald Trump made fresh accusations against fired FBI Director James Comey in a series of posts on social media.

This comes as U. S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions agrees to appear before the Senate Intelligence Committee to answer questions (Tuesday in Washington).

House committee asks for Trump tapes

The House Intelligence Committee has now formally asked for any tapes U.S. President Donald Trump might have made during conversations with former FBI Director James Comey.

During a press conference with the President of Romania, President Trump indicated he'd answer questions about possible tapes shortly.

Trump Undercuts US Diplomatic Efforts on Qatar

Pres. Trump refuses to answer questions about tapes

U.S. President Donald Trump is refusing to answer whether there recordings of the meetings between him and former FBI Director James Comey.

During testimony under oath to the U.S. Senate's Intelligence Committee, James Comey said if there are tapes, he gives blanket permission for them to be released.

President Trump was the first to bring up the idea in a tweet weeks ago, saying James Comey better hope there are NOT tapes, but now the American president wouldn't answer questions.

Donald Trump said some of Mr Comey's Senate testimony wasn't true - and appeared to accuse his fired FBI chief of perjury.

Pres. Trump calls on Qatar to stop funding terrorism

U.S. President Donald Trump appeared to re-escalate the tension in the Persian Gulf, by calling on Qatar to immediately stop the funding of terrorism.

Just a short while earlier, U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson called on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Egypt to ease the blockade against Qatar.

Now, President Trump is calling on Qatar to end terrorist financing as quickly as possible.

Pres. Trump commits to NATO Article 5

U.S. President Donald Trump has finally publicly committed to Article 5 of the NATO treaty, which assures each member will help defend other member nations.

The American president failed to make this commitment during a major speech at the opening of the new headquarters of NATO in Brussels a few weeks ago.

According to reports, the language on Article 5 was removed from the speech at the last minute.

But now President Trump is making a public commitment.

US arrests two Hezbollah operatives for terrorism-related activities

The US Department of Justice has arrested two Americans working undercover for the Lebanon-based organization Hezbollah, which is designated by the US as a foreign terrorist organization.


Ali Kourani of New York and Samer el Debek of Michigan face a litany of terrorism-related charges including providing material support to Hezbollah, receiving training from a terrorist group and weapons offenses.

No high-profile changes to UK cabinet after election

British Prime Minister Theresa May says she will not be making any high-profile changes to her cabinet, after gaining the most seats in the country's election.


She has, however, lost her majority in parliament, despite calling the election in order to gain a bigger majority. And Mrs May has been forced to form a minority government.

Polanski rape victim to ask court to end case

The woman who was raped by film director Roman Polanski forty years ago will ask a Los Angeles court to officially end the case.

Polanski pleaded guilty to statutory rape in 1977 and served a very brief sentence, but then fled to Europe in fear of further punishment.

Colombia's FARC Guerrilla hands in weapons

Colombia's FARC rebels say they have handed in 30 percent of their weapons to the United Nations. 

The handing in of the FARC's weaponry was part of a peace deal signed last year between the government and the rebels which aims at putting an end to the 52-year long conflict.

South Korea committed to THAAD deal

A top national security advisor in South Korea says the country
remains committed to its deal with the U.S. to deploy an anti-missile
system known as THAAD.

May pushes forward with coalition government despite large losses at the polls

UK Prime Minister Theresa May has confirmed she will form a new government despite losing her majority in parliament following Thursday's general election. 

The opposition Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has called for May to resign. But instead she will form a minority administration, with the backing of the small Democratic Unionist Party from Northern Ireland. 

Defying some critics in her  own party who have urged her to think about her position, Theresa May addressed reporters from 10 Downing Street in London.
