A Conservative Party candidate in Thursday's UK general election has been charged for alleged overspending during the 2015 poll.

The charging of Craig Mackinlay is a new blow for Conservative leader Theresa May in what's been a difficult campaign for her already.

UK election campaigning latest

Campaigning continues in the UK with less than a week to go before the snap general election.


The ruling Conservative party is concentrating on immigration to win over voters, while the opposition Labour Party is promising investment and job creation.

Russian President and Indian PM to be quizzed at the St Petersburg Economic Forum

Ahead of Modi's visit to the US, Trump accuses India of trying to 'extract billions' for climate deal

In a speech at the White House on Thursday, US President Donald Trump said his country will withdraw from the Paris climate change agreement.

Environmental groups immediately condemned the decision, with President Trump also announcing that the US will look to renegotiate the Paris pact or perhaps broker a new deal.

US monitoring Manila situation

Resorts World Manila is on lockdown after reports of gunfire and an actual blaze broke out at the complex near the Filippino capital.

Resort workers were working with police and fire fighters to thoroughly search the complex, with one official confirming shots were fired.

White House says it is delaying moving US embassy in Israel to Jerusalem


US President Donald Trump has officially delayed moving the US embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.

Jerusalem is the capital of Israel but many countries, including the US, have kept their embassies in Tel Aviv to avoid conflict with Palestine.

Palestinians and Israelis have long clashed over their claims to the city, and moving the US embassy would be hugely controversial.
