US monitoring Manila situation

Resorts World Manila is on lockdown after reports of gunfire and an actual blaze broke out at the complex near the Filippino capital.

Resort workers were working with police and fire fighters to thoroughly search the complex, with one official confirming shots were fired.

The U.S. State Department warned Americans to stay away, with U.S. President Donald Trump issuing this statement.

Donald Trump: US to withdraw from Paris climate change deal, will try to renegotiate or do new deal


In a speech at the White House on Thursday, US President Donald Trump said his country will withdraw from the Paris climate change agreement.

Environmental groups immediately condemned the decision, with President Trump also announcing that the US will look to renegotiate the Paris pact or perhaps broker a new deal:

US out of Paris Climate Accords

The United States is pulling out of the Paris Climate Change Accords.


President Trump made the announcement at the White House, saying it's his "solemn duty" to protect the country from an agreement that he says will disadvantage America's workers.

US & Japan begin naval exercises off North Korea

The United States and Japan have begun three days of naval exercises to put pressure on North Korea to stop its ballistic missile program.

The exercises are taking place in the body of water between Japan and the Korean Peninsula.

White House says it is delaying moving US embassy in Israel to Jerusalem


US President Donald Trump has officially delayed moving the US embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.

Jerusalem is the capital of Israel but many countries, including the US, have kept their embassies in Tel Aviv to avoid conflict with Palestine.

Palestinians and Israelis have long clashed over their claims to the city, and moving the US embassy would be hugely controversial.

Additional subpoenas issued in Russia probe

The House Intelligence Committee has issued a total of seven subpoenas, asking for documents and testimony tied to the ongoing probe of how Russia meddled in the 2016 U.S. election.

India will honour Paris Climate deal even if US pulls out

As Donald Trump readies to pull out of the Paris deal, India has indicated it will continue to strive to meet targets set for itself. In April, Trump had targeted India to say that the country is not contributing anything to the deal.

India along with other developing countries like China and Brazil have asked developed countries to honor their commitment to give $100 billion per year in aid. India is the third largest emitter of greenhouse gases after the US and China.
