Brits welcome efforts to improve security following Manchester attack

The British armed forces have joined police on the streets of London and at other iconic locations, after British Prime Minister Theresa May changed the threat level  to critical following the suicide bombing attack at the Ariana Grande concert in Manchester.

Greater Manchester police have confirmed that they've arrested four and are investigating a network, with concerns there might be another attack.

With uniformed soldiers now on the streets, many Brits welcomed the efforts to keep things safe.

Clearly a terror network - Manchester police

Manchester police say they are investigating a network following the suicide bomb attack at the Ariana Grande concert which killed 22 and injured 59.

They are confirmed that four have been arrested, with the investigation on going.

US submarines off Korean peninsula - Trump to Duterte

U.S. President Donald Trump discussed the fact that two U.S. Navy submarines are deployed off the Korean peninsula with Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, the New York Times reports.

Reports: US President appoints lawyer to represent him in Russia investigations


According to media reports, US President Donald Trump has appointed a top New York lawyer to represent him in relation to the ongoing Russia investigations.

The FBI and several committees in Congress are all looking into accusations of collusion between the Trump presidential campaign and Russia during the 2016 US election.

Trump embarks on European leg of tour

US president Donald Trump has embarked on the European leg of his first overseas tour.


The president is being hosted by the Pope in the Vatican city and then heading to Belgium ahead of the NATO summit.

MANCHESTER BOMBER'S CONNECTIONS PROBED

The UK's interior minister Amber Rudd says it 'seems likely' the Manchester suicide bomber did not act alone.

This follows the decision to raise the UK terror threat level to 'critical', which means a new attack is considered potentially imminent.

Armed forces are being deployed to locations including Westminster and Buckingham Palace.

Salman Abedi, who's suspected of carrying out the bombing in Manchester which killed 22 people, had been previously known to UK authorities.

Indian Army bombs Pakistani outposts along the border

The Indian Army has released video clips of what it calls 'punitive fire assaults' along the militarized border in the contested state of Jammu and Kashmir.

India claims this was preemptive action to prevent terrorists from entering Indian territory by using cover fire from Pakistan posts.

Pakistan claims no such attack took place.

Trump 'praised Duterte's drug crackdown'

US President Donald Trump praised Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte's deadly crackdown on drug gangs, according to a leaked transcript.

British Prime Minister warns another terror attack could be "imminent"

The British Prime Minister Theresa May is warning that another terror attack could be "imminent" following Monday night's suicide bombing in Manchester that left 22 people dead and more than 50 injured.


The country's terror threat level has been raised to "severe".


Twenty two year old Salman Abedi has been named as the suspected suicide bomber. 


He was born in Manchester but is known to have made several trips to Libya.


Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the blast.


Mrs. May says that decision has been taken based on information yielded during the investigation into the Manchester attack.

Some, like Alicia Hattersley who attended the Ariana Grande concert that was taking place in Manchester Arena at the time of the blast, say they're feeling guilt over surviving.

One concert has gone ahead on Manchester, despite Monday's attack.


The band "Simple Minds" played in the city and observed a minute's silence for the victims of Monday's carnage.


The band's Jim Kerr was defiant about not canceling the gig.

US Senate Intelligence Committee not ruling out charges of contempt of Congress against Michael Flynn


The two most senior members of the US Senate Intelligence Committee say they are not ruling out charges of contempt of Congress against sacked National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.

That's after Flynn refused to testify in front of lawmakers about accusations of collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign to avoid incriminating himself.

And on Tuesday the committee issued two new subpoenas to compel Flynn to hand over relevant documents.

UK PM May raises threat level

British Prime Minister Theresa May has raised the threat of attack to the highest levels, following the tragedy in Manchester.

She authorized a special operation which will put members of the military on the street to support police officers at a time when she says another attack may happen.


As the investigations continue, Prime Minister May said British authorities concluded it's time to raise the threat level.

U.S. Begins Strict Checks of Refugees in Australian Detention Centers

U.S. Homeland Security officials have conducted their first round of
"extreme vetting" interviews in order to relocate over a thousand
asylum seekers from detention centers off the Australian coast.

It's part of a refugee swap between the U.S. and Australia and comes

White House pushes back after Congressional testimony

The White House insists that Congressional hearings again prove their point that the President has done nothing wrong on intelligence sharing or possible collusion between his campaign and the Russians.

Fiat Chrysler accused of cheating on emissions tests

US officials have filed a lawsuit against  Fiat Chrysler, alleging they have been cheating on emissions tests for some of their diesel vehicles.

This is second time the US Justice Department has pursue such charges - last year German carmaker Volkswagen pleaded guilty to rigging software in a criminal case that will end up costing VW upwards of 25 billion dollars.
