Under intense political fire, Trump defends himself

President Trump says he's been treated worse than any other politician in history, and he says he's accomplished "a tremendous amount in a very short time as President".


Making his first public comments since calls grew for an independent commission to investigate the President for possible obstruction of justice, he indicated that he has no plans to give up.

Rolf Harris nicknamed 'Groper Rolf'

Former television personality Rolf Harris, who was jailed in 2014 on historic charges of indecent assault,  is facing fresh allegations in a new trial this week.


During the third day of hearings, he was accused of assaulting a 16 year old girl in the 1970s.

Ford To Cut Nearly 10% of N. America and Asia Workforce

Ford has announced that it will be cutting nearly 10 per cent of its workforce in its North America and Asia Pacific divisions.

The carmaker said the cuts would come through voluntary buyouts and early retirement packages -  it's been under pressure to improve its profits amid a sinking stock price.

Mexico: journalists demand justice for Javier Valdez

House Democrats accuse Republicans of obstructing Russia investigation and one calls for impeachment

House Democrats are pushing for creation of an independent congressional commission to investigate the Russia controversy.

Republican lawmaker demands Comey memos

The chair of the U.S. House of Representatives Government Oversight Committee is demanding all memos from James Comey about meetings with U.S. Presisdent Donald Trump.

The New York Times reported that the now fired FBI director wrote memos on every conversation and meeting, including one in which President Trump urged him to let the investigation of Michael Flynn go.

Chelsea Manning released from prison

US soldier Chelsea Manning has been released from prison after serving seven years for leaking hundred of thousands of military files to wikileaks in the largest breach of classified information in US history.

Most of what remained of her 35-year sentence was commuted by then-US President Barack Obama in January.

Indian school girls on a hunger strike to protest sexual harassment

80 girls from the north Indian state of Haryana have quit school and have been on a week long hunger strike.

The girls claim they are forced to endure sexual harassment everyday because they have to walk 3 kilometers to get to their school in a neighbouring village.

Just last year, a girl was raped on her way to school in the same district.

Italian PM to meet with Putin in Sochi

LIB DEMS RELEASE MANIFESTO AS LABOUR TIPPED TO LOSE BY KEY ALLY
