US court of appeal to hear arguments on Trump revised travel ban

Trump's second version of an executive order halting immigration from
6 majority Muslim countries.

The order was blocked by a federal judge in Hawaii in March. This

US accuses Syria of coverup

The U.S. State Department is accusing the regime of Bashar al-Assad of building a crematorium to cover up the evidence of war crimes at the Saydnaya millitary prison.

The U.S. says as many as 50 prisoners are being hanged every day, and instead of burying the bodies in mass graves, some are being burned to eliminate evidence. 

Cremation is generally considered haram - that is forbidden - in Islam.

UN Steps Up Appeal For South Sudan Refugees

The United Nations has stepped up its appeal for South Sudan's refugees, saying it needs at least 1.4 billion dollars to help support those fleeing fighting in the region.

The UN Refugee Agency and the World Food Programme have said the suffering there is 'close to the abyss'.

US lawmakers demand Trump turn over Comey "tapes"

US lawmakers from both sides have called on President Donald Trump to turn over any tapes of conversations with fired FBI chief James Comey.

Last week Trump appeared to suggest on Twitter that he might have such recordings and warned the former director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation against talking to the media.

UK's NHS still feeling the impact of cyber-attack

A number of the UK's National Health Service Trusts are still feeling the impact of last week's cyber attack, which saw a computer virus lock files and demand a ransom to allow access.


Seven out of the 47 seven hit by the ransomeware virus say they are in need of 'extra support' but patients are still being told to turn up for appointments.

Indian woman gang-raped & killed, body mutilated

Two men have been arrested for allegedly gang-raping and murdering a young woman in the North Indian state of Haryana. She was abducted from near her house and attacked by a man whose marriage proposal she had turned down.

Just last week, India's top court upheld the death sentence of four convicts who similarly gang-raped a medical student in Delhi in 2012. That crime had sparked off widespread demonstrations across India.

International Court of Justice to decide on Indian national's execution

The International Court of Justice is holding public hearings on pleas filed by India and Pakistan on a death sentence handed out to an Indian national.

A Pakistani military court awarded Kulbhushan Jadhav the death penalty on charges of spying. India claims Jadhav has been framed. The issue has once again led to escalated ties between the nuclear armed neighbors.
