EU Leader Calls Leaking Details of Dinner with UK PM a Serious Mistake

European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker says it's a serious mistake details of his dinner with UK Prime Minister Theresa May were released.

The account of the dinner was far from flattering for the prime minister and launched a bitter war of words between the UK and EU.

In a first, India's Supreme Court sends senior judge to jail

For the first time ever, India's top court has sentenced a sitting judge to six months imprisonment for contempt of court. The judge has been at loggerheads with India's top court, accusing several Supreme Court judges of corruption.

Just last week, the Supreme Court had even ordered a ordered a psychiatric evaluation of the judge to ascertain if was mentally ill.

IMF forecasts rebound in India growth

The International Monetary Fund says that India's economy is expected to bounce back over the next two years following the impact of the government's demonetisation move.

Russia Pushing For Quick UN vote Backing Astana Deal

The President of the UN Security Council has said that Moscow wants a vote early this week on a deal recently signed in the Kazakh capital Astana by Russia, Turkey and Iran.

The agreement would set up four 'de-escalation zones' in Syria to try and shore up the ceasefire, but Uruguay's Ambassador, the council President this month, said consultations on a resolution backing the deal are still going on.

Trump set to reverse Obama policy on Afghanistan - reports

U.S. President Donald Trump is set to essentially reverse Barack Obama's policy toward Afghanistan and put the U-S back on a war footing to combat the Taliban.

The Washington Post reports a policy review is pointing at military options to push back the militant group.

Former acting US Attorney General confirms she warned White House of Michael Flynn blackmail risk


Former acting US Attorney General Sally Yates has confirmed she informed the White House of her concerns about National Security Adviser Michael Flynn 18 days before he was forced to resign.

Flynn was fired by US President Donald Trump after failing to disclose a meeting with Russia's ambassador to the US.

New French President will be inaugurated Sunday


Emmanuel Macron will be inaugurated as French President on Sunday, after winning 66% of the vote in the second round of the French Presidential elections.


The centrist, pro-Europe candidate beat opponent Marine Le Pen of the far-right Front National party in the run-off, and has vowed to unite France.


But, as our correspondent Elena Casas reports from Paris, despite Marine Le Pen winning only 34% of the vote - her anti-EU and anti-single currency pledges, hit a chord with many in the country.
