Facebook to hire extra staff to review extreme videos

Facebook says it will hire three thousand people to review videos of crime and suicides on the social network.

The move follows criticism of Facebook for failing to quickly remove recent footage of murders uploaded to the site.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Washington, US President reaffirms commitment to brokering historic peace deal


US President Donald Trump has reaffirmed his commitment to brokering a historic peace deal between Israel and Palestine.

Speaking to reporters alongside the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in a joint statement at the White House...the US President said a deal can't be imposed by any nation on Israel and Palestine.

Brazil: indigenous community attacked

Human rights advocates are pushing for the Brazilian government to increase protects of a local indigenous community, after members of the Gamela tribe were shot and stabbed.

FBI Director Comey feels 'mildly nauseous' about potential election influence

FBI Director James Comey says he feels "mildly nauseous" his announcement about re-opening an investigation into Hillary Clinton's emails could have affected the election result, but he stands by his decision.

On Tuesday, Hillary Clinton suggested that James Comey's October letter to congress about her emails played a decisive role in the outcome of the election.

In a Senate judiciary committee hearing on Wednesday, Mr Comey told senators it was not his job to consider the political impact of his decisions.

No charges for white officers over black man's death

Two white police officers will not be charged for shooting dead a
black man in Louisiana last summer, an incident that caused days of
protests.

Video footage shows the officers shooting Alton Sterling while holding

Barnier: Brexit bill not a punishment

The EU's chief negotiator on Brexit says Britain must settle its accounts before it leaves the bloc, but says this is not a punishment.   

Michel Barnier was speaking after Britain's Financial Times newspaper claimed the bill Brussels will seek for the so-called divorce settlement has risen from 60 billion euro to 100 billion.

British officials say they do not recognize this figure and will not be paying it.

Publishing his Brexit mandate, agreed guidelines for the negotiations, Mr Barnier also said no figure had been agreed for the exit bill.  

Speaking through an interpreter he said it would simply be a settling of accounts.
