Courts block series of executions in American state of Arkansas

American courts have blocked a controversial plan by the state of Arkansas to execute seven convicted murderers by the end of the month.

The state wanted to fast-track the executions because of the availability of the drugs used to kill the prisoners, but as our North American correspondent John Clarke reports, the courts say the state is acting illegally.

Venezuelan government donated to Trump inauguration


Newly released records show the Venezuelan government donated half a million dollars to US President Donald Trump's inauguration in January.

Documents reveal the funds were donated by Citgo Petroleum, a US subsidiary of Venezuela's state oil company PDVSA.

ExxonMobil seeks U.S. waiver to resume dealings with Russia

The oil giant Exxon Mobil is pursuing a waiver from US sanctions on Russia to drill in the Black Sea with Russia's state oil company.

The sanctions were imposed on Russia in response to its military intervention in Ukraine.

Former Exxon Mobil boss Rex Tillerson is now Donald Trump's Secretary of State.

Pence Visits Indonesian Mosque, Says Trump To Attend US-ASEAN Summit

Corbyn hits the campaign trail ahead of June election

British opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn has accused the Conservative government of ruling for the elite and ignoring working people as he began campaigning ahead of the snap general election on June 8th. 

The leader who enjoys strong grassroots support from Labour party members told supporters a victory for the Conservatives, who are well ahead in opinion polls, is not a foregone conclusion. 

Mr Corbyn says it was working families who had paid the price for the financial crash of 2008 which he said had been caused by the recklessness of bankers.

Russia's Putin to meet Abu Dhabi Crown Prince
