Teenage refugee in Germany sentenced over bomb plot

A 16 year old Syrian refugee was found guilty in a German court of planning a bomb attack on behalf of the Islamic State militant group.

The country remains on high alert as authorities have uncovered several plots in the past year.

North Korea lashes out at US Navy strike group movement

North Korea warned of "catastrophic consequences" in response to the US deployment of a Navy strike group to the Korean peninsula.

The US pacific command says the deployment is aimed at mainting readiness in the region. North Korea called it "outrageous actions".

Update: Student Among Three Dead In San Bernardino School Shooting

One of the two children who were wounded Monday during an apparent
murder-suicide at an elementary school in San Bernardino, California
has died. 8-year-old Jonathan Martinez was critically wounded, and
another student was injured, when their teacher's estranged husband
opened fire in the special needs classroom.

Mixed messages from White House on Syria policy

The Trump administration continues to offer mixed messages regarding its policy in Syria.
During the daily White House briefing spokesman Sean Spicer suggested they favoured regime change but also reiterated Trump's promise to put America first and not become the world's policeman.

The White House says the U.S. is holding open the possibility of launching more airstrikes in Syria. In his daily briefing, spokesman Sean Spicer called last week's airstrikes a success.  U.S. cruise missiles were launched at an airfield where it is thought that last week's deadly chemical attacks originated.

Murder-suicide confirmed in California school shooting

Two students are hospitalized and two adults are dead after a murder suicide at a California elementary school.

When news first broke, there were significant concerns that this was a repeat of the December 2015 terror attack at the local government offices, which left 14 dead.

Lieutenant Mike Madden of the San Bernardino police confirmed it was a murder suicide.

Two dead after classroom shooting

Two people have died after a shooting at an elementary school in California.

Police say the victims are adults, although some students are also
being treated for injuries.

United Airlines faces criticism

United Airlines is facing strong criticism after a man was forcibly
removed from his seat and physically dragged down the aisle.

He was taken off the overbooked flight which was traveling from
Chicago to Louisville in Kentucky.

Wells Fargo claws back $75m from top execs

US bank Wells Fargo is taking $75 million back from two of its
executives following a six-month investigation into the banks bad
sales practices.

US: Police pursue suspect after gun theft and sending anti-government manifesto

Police are on a manhunt for a suspect who stole more than a dozen
firearms including handguns and rifles as part of a plan to carry out
a violent attack.

The 32-year-old man from the state of Wisconsin, allegedly sent a

Italian police detain former Mexican governor

Mexican authorities have confirmed that former governor of the border state of Tamaulipas, Tomás Yarrington has been detained in Italy.

Mr.Yarrington, had been a fugitive from Mexican justice for almost five years, he is accused of corruption and money laundering.

Extreme weather costs U.S. record $5 billion this year

Extreme weather events in the United States during the first three
months of the year have cost over $5 billion.
