Trump's climate change plans face challenges

US President Donald Trump's plan to reverse climate change policies is
facing legal opposition from state governors.

New York and California, and a range of environmental groups say they
intend to fight the President.

Brexit in Motion as UK Triggers Article 50

British Prime Minister Theresa May has triggered Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty, formally giving notice of the UK's intention to the leave the European Union.  

The Prime Minister gave a statement at parliament at the same time as Britain's permanent representative in Brussels handed a letter to European Council president Donald Tusk.

May formally begins the Brexit process


British Prime Minister Theresa May has formally given notice to the European Union of the UK's intention to quit the bloc. 

Theresa May made a statement in the House of Commons at the same time as the UK's ambassador the EU delivered a letter to European Council President Donald Tusk.    

The triggering of Article 50 of the Lisbon treaty, the mechanism to leave the EU, begins a two year deadline in which the divorce settlement must be agreed, including complex issues relating to borders,  immigration the status of nationals living overseas and the final monetary bill. 

Prime Minister Theresa May said leaving the EU was an historic moment.

One week after Westminster attack police officers pay tribute

One week after the terror attacks in Westminster police officers and other emergency responders from across London will walk across Westminster Bridge in solidarity.

Officers will join hands and walk the length of the bridge before a moments silence is held at 2.40pm, the exact time when the attack occured.

Russian bank admits having contacts with Jared Kushner

The Russian state-run bank Vnesheconombank has admitted to having contacted Jared Kushner, President Donald Trump's son-in-law and top White House adviser. However the Kremlin has dismissed meetings between Kushner and bank officials as "routine".

US House Votes to Revoke Broadband Privacy Rules

The US House of Representatives voted Tuesday to overturn broadband
privacy rules established by the Federal Communications Commission
which required internet service providers to ask consumer's permission
before collecting, selling or using any of their personal data.

EU awaits notification from the UK to leave the bloc

The European Union is awaiting a letter from the UK government to formally trigger the official process for leaving the bloc. 

A letter from the British government is expected arrive at the European Council in Brussels to begin a two year timer on negotiations.

Sally Yates to appear before Congressional committees

The U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee is working on scheduling a hearing for Sally Yates, the former acting U.S. Attorney General, to testify about what she knows about investigations into ties between the Trump team and Russia.

White House insists Sally Yates can testify

The White House insists it did nothing to prevent former Acting U.S. Attorney General Sally Yates from testifying about what she and the Department of Justice knew on an unclassified basis about possible ties between the Trump transition and Russia.

The Washington Post reports that White House counsel indicated she could not testify under presidential communications priviledge rules.

Senator Mark Warner has told CNN, Sally Yates will now testify to the Senate Intelligence Committee, although whether she will also testify to the House panel is unclear.

Terror charge for race-based murder in New York

A grand jury has ruled that the murder of an African-American man by a white supremacist in New York City will be treated as an act of terror.
