Four die in London terror attack

Four people have died in what police in London are calling a terrorist attack, including one police officer and the assailant.


20 people are injured, with some of those injuries said to be catastrophic, after a car ploughed into pedestrians, before the attacker attempted to gain access to the UK's House of Parliament

Four dead and at least twenty injured in London terror attack

At least four people have died and at least twenty are injured after what police describe as a "terrorist incident" in central London.

A police officer and the suspected attacker are among the dead.

Police say a car drove along Westminster Bridge, hitting and injuring several people. The car then crashed near the Houses of Parliament and the attacker then stabbed a police officer.

Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner Mark Rowley said police believed there was only one attacker.

Terrorism Investigation Opened After UK Parliament Attack

A terrorism investigation has begun in London after an assailant stabbed a policeman outside the Parliament building.

The alleged assailant was shot by police at the scene and several people have died or been seriously injured.

The man appears to have deliberately driven a vehicle into several people walking on the nearby Westminster Bridge.

Our Correspondent Catherine Drew is at the scene.

At least one person has died and several others are critically injured after what police describe as a "terrorist incident" in central London.

A car hit people on Westminster Bridge and a man stabbed a police officer in the Houses of Parliament before being shot by armed police.

RPTS: Dead, Injured after 'terror-attack' near UK parliament


A least one person is dead and a number injured following a terror-incident outside Britain's Houses of Parliament on Wednesday.

Reports say several people were mowed down by a vehicle crossing a nearby bridge -  a suspect seen carrying a knife was later shot by police as he attempted to enter the parliament grounds.

US Laptop/Tablet Cabin Ban Impacts 10 Airport

The United States is banning passengers from carrying large electronic devices onto direct flights from ten airports in the Middle East and North Africa. 

The ban appears to be related to specific intelligence related to the Islamic State group.

UN agency concerned over forced return of Nigerian refugees from Cameroon

UK ELECTRONICS FLIGHT BAN 'IN PLACE BY SATURDAY'

The UK's ban on large electronic devices in cabin baggage on some flights will be fully in place by Saturday, according to the government.

It follows a similar move from the US which says bombs could be hidden in devices like laptops and tablets.

Ukraine bars Russia's entry for Eurovision

LEAD:

Ukraine has barred Russia's entry for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest from entering the country.  The spokeswoman for Ukraine's state security service said that Yulia Samoylova violated Ukrainian laws by performing in Crimea, annexed by Moscow in 2014.  She will be banned for a period of three years.  Julia Lyubova reports from Moscow.

Scotland prepares to vote on second referendum

The Scottish Parliament is preparing to vote on whether to hold a second independence referendum, after two days of debate.


It comes after Scotland's First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, accused Westminster of not listening to Scotland over Brexit.


She believes the country should decide whether it wants to follow the UK into a hard Brexit or opt for independence.


UK Prime Minister Theresa May has already rejected Mrs Sturgeon's plans to hold a second Scottish referendum between Autumn 2018 and Spring 2019.


Mrs May told MPs in the Commons that she wants the UK to remain united.

North Korea missile fails 'within seconds of launch', US officials

Parcel Bombs Found in Greece Similar to Those Delivered in Berlin and Paris

Eight parcel bombs, similar to those recently sent to the German finance minister in Berlin and International Monetary Fund offices in Paris, have been found in Greece. 

These eight new bombs are addressed to European Union officials, including the leader of Greek bailout talks and an official at the European Central Bank- one of Greece's three main international creditors.

White House Confirms Trump Trip to Brussels

UK bans electronic devices on flights

The UK has followed the US in announcing a ban on carry-on electronic devices on direct flights from several, largely muslim-majority countries.


Sources in the US have said that potential threats from the Islamic State to smuggle explosives onto planes had sparked the restrictions
