Emmanuel Macron, the favourite to be next French President, says he wants to attract the top British talent to his country after Brexit.

US Department of Homeland Security issues new plan to deport immigrants

New Trump administration orders target 11 million for arrest and deportation

More than 11 million people in America have now been warned they are at risk of immediate arrest and deportation, after President Trump's government issued new orders to the country's immigration agents.


The Department of Homeland Security says agents should now initiate deportation proceedings against any illegal immigrant they find.

Fresh executive order on immigration expected from White House

U.S. President Donald Trump has promised a revised executive order to limit immigration and refugees from key Middle Eastern countries.

The new order could also impact a broader range of countries and is expected to be challenged in court on questions of constitutionality, just as the first executive order was.

In a quick interview with 24-hour news channel MSNBC, U.S. President Donald Trump insisted the executive order is necessary to protect national security.

GOALKEEPER'S PIE-EATING INVESTIGATED

England's Football Association and the UK's Gambling Commission are investigating the eating of a pie by a reserve goalkeeper in an FA Cup tie against Arsenal.

Sutton's Wayne Shaw ate the pie in full view of television cameras in the 83rd minute of the match, which his team lost.

Pres. Trump speaks out against anti-semitism

U.S. President Donald Trump is vowing to continue to try to bring a divided America and to stamp out anti-semitism.

His remarks came after 11 Jewish community centers around the United States received bomb threats, with anti-semitic attacks on the rise since the beginning of the year.

President Trump shut down a reporter from an Jewish publication last week, when he tried to ask for comment on the rising tide of attacks during the President's first press conference.

Now, after visiting the National Museum of African American History and Culture, and with his daughter Ivanka who converted to Judaism Ivanka beside him, the American president said he opposes hate.

Jewish centres report bomb threats across United States

The FBI is investigating after several Jewish community centres across the United States were evacuated on Monday over bomb threats.

The latest wave of incidents happened in cities including Houston, Chicago and Milwaukee. The phoned-in bomb threats were later determined to be hoaxes.

Poland Says Rule of Law Dispute with European Commission is Over

Poland says its rule of law dispute with the European Commission is now a closed matter.

The EU requested a series of reforms from the new Polish government after it introduced laws which seemed to weaken the country's courts.

Kremlin dismisses proposed Ukraine peace

Moscow is dismissing a peace plan for Ukraine drafted by one of the country's pro-Russian lawmakers.

Andriy Artemenko's proposal, which was submitted to the Trump administration, calls for Russia to withdraw from eastern Ukraine and hold a referendum on leasing Crimea.

But the Kremlin is describing the proposals as "absurd".

It made a pre-tax profit of $7.1bn, which is down 62% on the $18.9bn reported for the previous year.

Right Wing Provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos Has Book Deal Cancelled

Publisher Simon & Schuster says it has cancelled the planned publication of a book by Breitbart editor and right wing speaker Milo Yiannopoulos [[MY-lo yeeuh-NOP-uh-lus]].

South Sudan facing famine

Parts of war-ravaged South Sudan have been hit by famine, according to a food security report released Monday.

The report, endorsed by three United Nations agencies and the South Sudan bureau of statistics, says famine has struck the greater upper Nile states.

Russia's UN ambassador Churkin dead at 64
