US prepares sanctions against Venezuelan Vice President for alleged drug dealing

The new Trump administration in the United States is reportedly preparing sanctions against Venezuela's Vice President, for alleged involvement in drug trafficking and money laundering.

Tareck El Aissami is a controversial figure in Venezuelan politics, and as our North American correspondent John Clarke reports, sanctions would lead to even worse relations between Washington and Caracas.

The White House says US President Donald Trump is 'evaluating the situation' regarding his national security adviser, Michael Flynn.

Washington: President Trump meets with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau


At a joint press conference, President Donald Trump and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau repeated their interest and commitment to working together. 

Both leaders chose to avoid talking about their different views on Syrian refugees as well as security implications over immigration policy. 

President Trump highlighted his most recent efforts to remove undocumented immigrants, as US immigration agents conducted raids across the country arresting an estimated 680 people.

More than 100 thousand people ordered to evacuate from their homes in Northern California.
