Peace talks begin between Colombian government and ELN rebel group

Colombia's second largest guerrilla group, ELN or National Liberation Army, are beginning peace talks with the Colombian government Tuesday, in Ecuador's capital, Quito. 

This comes a day after the group released a soldier they had held captive for the past two weeks.

British MPs continue to debate Brexit bill amendments


MPs in the UK continue to debate amendments to the EU withdrawal bill, which many furious that the government has stood down several proposals.


The three days of debate will end on Wednesday, with the discussions going on late into the night.

Trump "can't believe" he faces immigration battle in courts

President Trump is calling his immigration ban "common sense" and says he "can't believe" he's having to fight for it in the courts.


An appeals court in California will rule later on whether the ban can go back into force.

Pres. Trump continues to attack media

U.S. President Donald Trump is continuing to describe the American press as dishonest.

He took to twitter earlier to claim he has no relationship with Russia, when he's previously indicated he does.

And the White House published a list of terror attacks it claims were not reported in the U.S., with many in the American media pointing out, the list is ill-spelled and the events were reported

Homeland Security takes blame for implementation of travel ban

John Kelly, the Secretary of Homeland Security, is taking responsibility for the implementation of the executive order limiting travel from the Middle East, which caused chaos at international airports.

The New York Times and other newspapers have reported that Secretary Kelly was not fully briefed on the executive order before U.S. President Donald Trump signed it.

Secretary Kelly told the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Homeland Security that the chaos was his fault.

Pres. Trump promises to keep fighting courts over travel ban

U.S. President Donald Trump can't believe he has to fight for his executive order limiting travel from the Middle East in the courts.

He feels it's common sense that national security comes first, while states and others argue the executive order is unconstitutional.

A U.S. federal appeals court is holding a hearing  later (1800 Eastern, 1500 Pacific) in San Francisco.

President Trump spoke to reporters after meeting with local sheriffs.

Melania Trump sues Daily Mail again

A California court will hear arguments Tuesday for President Trump's controversial travel ban.

The case against the immigration order argues it is unconstitutional, while Department of Justice lawyers say it needs to be reinstated as a matter of national security.

Suspended from IAAF, Russia may miss 2017 World Athletics Championships

The International Athletics Associations Federation has ruled Russia, suspended from the Association over doping in 2015, may not reinstate its membership before November. UK SPEAKER UNDER PRESSURE OVER TRUMP STANCE

UK House of Commons Speaker John Bercow is under increasing pressure over his opposition to a Parliamentary address by US President Donald Trump.

On Monday Speaker Bercow said 'opposition to racism and sexism' meant the Commons should not allow President Trump to speak at Westminster when he makes a state visit to Britain later this year.

Many senior Conservative MPs are angry and say he should now consider his position for breaching his neutrality and potentially harming transatlantic relations.
