PROTESTS ACROSS UK AT TRUMP IMMIGRATION POLICY

Protests against Donald Trump's new immigration restrictions have been held in cities across the UK.

British Parliamentarians have also held an emergency debate on the issue - after over 1.5 million (update as required) signed an online petition against a planned state visit to the UK by President Trump.

Prime Minister Theresa May says the invitation to Mr Trump to make a state visit later this year won't be withdrawn.

The UK government says it disagrees with the new US restrictions on immigration from a series of predominantly Muslim countries.

But it also says it's secured exemptions from the policy for UK nationals and passport holders.

Olly Barratt reports from the protest at Downing Street in London.
