US economy slows with Q4 1.9% growth

The US economy softened in the final quarter of 2016 according to the
latest government figures.

GDP in the fourth quarter came in below estimates at 1.9% growth.

Turkey Threatens to Scrap Migration Deal

Trump and Putin unlikely to have substantive policy discussions: Kremlin

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov says it's unlikely that Donald
Trump and Vladimir Putin will have substantive discussions on policy
when they talk over the phone this Saturday.

The two men are optimistic they can improve bilateral ties but US
intelligence agencies accuse Russia of committing cyber attacks in an
attempt to sway last year's presidential election in Trump's favour.

UK Prime Minister to Meet President Trump

Trump and Putin set to speak this weekend

The Kremlin has confirmed that Russia's President Vladimir Putin is
expected to speak with US President Donald Trump over the phone on
Saturday in what's believed to be their first interaction since
Trump's inauguration.

The two world leaders have praised one another in recent months but US
intelligence agencies have accused Russia of committing cyber attacks
to try and tip last year's presidential election in Trump's favor.

UK Prime Minister Theresa May will become the first foreign leader to hold face-to-face talks with Donald Trump since he became US President later (Friday).

Trade is top of the agenda as the pair meet with the UK hoping for a deal with the US as it leaves the EU.

They're also expected to discuss security, intelligence, Russia and the future of NATO.

Theresa May publicly criticised Mr Trump during his campaign and Downing Street was reportedly dismayed that he met former UKIP leader Nigel Farage in New York soon after his election.

Russia's FM holding talks with Syrian opposition in Moscow

Trump considers 20% import tax on Mexico

U.S. President Donald Trump is considering imposing a 20 per cent tax on imports from Mexico to pay for a border wall.
The White House says it is one of several options being looked at to ensure Mexico foots the bill - one of Trump's campaign pledges.

Changing health care law tops Trump's agenda

Pres. Trump says U.S. Mexico meeting fruitless

U.S. President Donald Trump has confirmed the meeting with Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto has been cancelled, because he says it would be fruitless.

President Pena-Nieto has said Mexico will not pay for a wall along the border with the U.S., and President Trump insists that's is what America's southern neighbor will do.

State Department officials resign en masse, while Mexican President cancels US visit

Several top officials have resigned from the State Department en masse after concluding that they cannot work for President Donald Trump.


The resignations came as the Mexican President abandoned plans to visit Washington next week.

Reports: State Department Senior Management Resigns

Six senior officials at the US State Department have resigned, according to the Washington Post.

The newspaper cites four un-named officials at the Department, who report that two staff stepped down on the day of Donald Trump's inauguration, and four more departed their posts on Wednesday afternoon.
