LIBYAN CAN SUE FORMER UK FOREIGN SEC.

Former UK Foreign Secretary Jack Straw can be sued by a former Libyan dissident over claims of torture and abduction, a court has ruled.

The case is also against UK security services, former intelligence official Sir Mark Allen, the Foreign Office and the Home Office.

May says UK won't pursue "partial membership" of EU in Brexit talks

Russian official calls CNN Trump article “hysterical”

Russia's Foreign Ministry spokesperson has called broadcaster CNN
hysterical after digging up interviews given by Donald Trump before he
ran for president.

The now US president-elect has vowed to improve ties with Moscow but
previously described Russia as the United States' biggest problem.

Biden Urges Trump Administration To Maintain Russia Sanctions

US Vice President Joe Biden has urged the incoming administration of Donald Trump to keep up America's sanctions on Russia, imposed after its annexation of Crimea in Ukraine.

Mr. Biden was speaking after talks with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in Kiev, his last foreign trip before leaving office.

Ten Guantanamo detainees moved to Oman

Oman says it's taken ten detainees from the US detention center at Guantanamo Bay.

It brings to at least 30 the number of inmates transferred from the prison in Cuba to the small Gulf nation.

UN: Atomic Agency Confirms Iran Removed Centrifuges in Compliance with Deal

Wife of Orlando shooter arrested in California

The wife of the man who opened fire at a gay nightclub in Orlando last year is due to appear in court later [Tuesday] on charges connected with the attack.

US Attorney General Loretta Lynch says the FBI arrested Noor Salman in San Francisco.

Salman's husband, Omar Mateen, killed 49 people in the shooting rampage during which he swore allegiance to ISIS.

Snap Northern Ireland Election Called

Northern Ireland has called for a snap election on 2nd March, following the resignation of Martin McGuinness, the Deputy First Minster, last week.


Mr McGuinness stepped down over a botched renewable heating scheme, in which he accused the First Minister of Northern Ireland, Arlene Foster, of  a conflict interest in an investigation into the scheme - after she refused to step aside

The German government has hit back at Donald Trump after the US President-elect described Chancellor Angela Merkel's immigration policy as a "very catastrophic mistake".

Trump criticizes Merkel in German interview

U.S. president-elect Donald Trump called German chancellor Angela Merkel's refugee policy 'catastrophic' in a joint interview with Germany's Bild Newspaper and the Times of London.
