TRUMP PRAISES BREXIT AHEAD OF MAY SPEECH

Donald Trump says negotiating a US trade deal with Britain will be a priority for him as the UK leaves the European Union.

In an interview for "The Times" of London, he's also expressed vocal criticism of the German Chancellor Angela Merkel, calling her immigration policies "catastrophic".

It comes a day before UK Prime Minister Theresa May is due to set out more detail on her plans for Brexit.

She's thought likely to suggest Britain could leave the European single market and customs union, paving the way for trade deals with countries like the US.
