VW set to pay $4.3 bn to U.S. regulators

Volkswagen announced it has negotiated a draft settlement of four point three billion dollars with U.S. regulators over a massive diesel emissions scandal.

The German automaker would also plead guilty to criminal misconduct.

The Taliban is claiming responsibility for a pair of suicide attacks, one outside the parliament in Kabul and the other at the governor's guesthouse in Kandahar.

At least 38 are confirmed dead with many dozens more injured.

Attorney General nominee Jeff Sessions says he will recuse himself from any possible probe of Hillary Clinton.
