Trump Calls Fidel Castro a "Brutal Dictator"

President Elect Donald Trump has called Fidel Castro a "Brutal Dictator" in his first formal reaction to the death of the iconic Cuban leader.

The statement indicates that some of President Obama's efforts to normalize ties could be undone during the next US administration.

Obama and Trump React to Castro's Death

President Barack Obama has offered the "hand of friendship" to the Cuban people following the death of Fidel Castro.

President elect Trump's statement is by contrast is heavily critical of the former Cuban leader and suggests a tougher policy moving forward.

Moscow expressed condolences to the people of Cuba over the death of Fidel Castro. The Russian President described the late Cuban leader as "a symbol of an era", a 'distinguished statesman', and a "sincere and reliable friend of Russia". Former Cuban leader Fidel Castro Dies, aged 90

Fidel Castro, the controversial revolutionary leader and former head of state of Cuba has died at the age of 90. He thrust his nation onto the world stage by embracing Soviet-style communism, defying U.S. policy through 11 administrations and dividing his own people for five decades. President Raúl Castro confirmed his brother's passing on Cuban television, and now many Cubans living in the US are reacting to the death of the controversial leader.

Wisonsin Election Commission Receives Recount Request

The election commission in the US state of Wisconsin has been asked to recount its votes from the presidential poll on the 8th November.

Green Party candidate Jill Stein filed the request to the state's authorities, after it was narrowly won by Donald Trump.

Suspect in murder of 9-African American churchgoers 'fit to stand trial'

The man accused of killing nine African-Americans in a South Carolina church last year is competent to stand trial, according to a district judge.

The trial of Dylan Roof will now proceed with jury selection due to start next week.

ETHIOPIA RELEASES BIPLANE RALLY CREW

Ethiopia has released at least 40 foreigners competing in a vintage plane race, who'd been held for allegedly entering its airspace without permission.

The pilots and crew were detained for questioning at an airport in south-western Ethiopia.

Lufthansa pilots to strike for fourth straight day

Coming the day after the US Thanksgiving holiday, Black Friday sees many retailers slash prices in an attempt to rack up sales.

LONDON CHILDREN 'AT RISK' DUE TO POLICE FAILINGS

Children in London have been put at risk by 'serious failing' from the city's Metropolitan Police in the way it looks into child sexual abuse.

This according to a report by the HM Inspectorate of Constabulary which says 75% of cases were not properly dealt with.
