Russia says it has detained Ukrainian saboteurs in Crimea

LEAD:

Russia's Federal Security Service, the FSB, says it had detained a group of saboteurs who it says were planning attacks in Crimea.  The FSB says they were planning to attack military sites and vital infrastructure in the annexed peninsula. Julia Lyubova reports from Moscow.

West Australian child abuser faces life in the USA

In Western Australia,  a man from Perth will be extradited to the US to face child abuse charges after losing a bid in Australia's High Court to appeal against the decision.

The New York businessman will need to start picking his cabinet, aided by his transition team Chris Christie, governor of New Jersey, and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

Senate Majority leader looks forward to working with President Trump

Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell is trying to strike a positive tone, saying he is looking forward to getting on the same page with a President Donald Trump.

Ryan Praises Trump

The top Republican in the US Congress  Paul Ryan has called Donald Trump's victory "the most incredible political  feat I have seen in my lifetime". 

In the closing weeks of Trump's campaign Representative Ryan had virtually refused to mention the Republican candidate by name, in public appearances.

But Ryan says he now has an  opportunity to work with Trump on key conservative goals,  including the repeal and  replacement of Obamacare.
