Demolition "by hand" of Calais migrant camp set to begin

Authorities in France are expected to begin taking down parts of the so-called "Jungle" camp in Calais, as thousands of migrants leave...

On Monday more than 2-thousand boarded busses to be taken to new asylum processing centres across France.

But some are refusing to leave - as our correspondent in Calais Dan Whitehead reports...

Trump attacks Obamacare on news of premium hikes

Donald Trump has attacked Obamacare after the news healthcare premiums
are likely to rise sharply next year.

The Republican nominee has already promised to repeal and replace the
US President's signature health plan.

Speaking to several thousand people at a rally in Tampa, in the
crucial swing state of Florida, he told them his campaign was a "once
a lifetime" chance.

But he spent several minutes criticizing the steep jump in Obamacare payments

UN Reports Gunfire and Looting in Central African Republic Capital

The UN Mission in the Central African Republic has reported gunfire and incidents of looting in the capital Bangui.

The Reuters news agency reports that hundreds of protestors had gathered to call for the 13,000-strong UN mission to leave the country, and the UN has denied using live bullets on the crowd, saying its soldiers only used tear gas.

The Secretary General's spokesperson has appealed for calm, as Lorna Shaddick reports from UN headquarters in New York.

Clinton Maintains Sizable Lead in US Election Polls

Hillary Clinton is maintaining a sizable lead against Donald Trump in the race for the White House.

A new national poll conducted by ABC News shows the Democrat with a 12 point advantage heading into the final two weeks of campaigning.

Clinton has been holding a rally in Nevada, pushing home a message designed to underscore her strong support with female voters.

She also criticized her Republic opponent for refusing to say whether he would accept the outcome of the election.

Brazil may lift US visa requirement

Migrants leave Calais jungle on eve of demolition work

Large numbers of migrants who've been living in the Calais jungle camp have been processed and sent to asylum centres elsewhere in France...

Sixty coaches have been made available, with more transport being provided on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Authorities are due to start demolishing the camp on Tuesday.

US remains worried about uncertainty with Philippines

U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Daniel Russel did not appear to leave meetings in Manila reassured about how the U.S. relationship with the government of President Rodrigo Duterte is proceeding,
telling reporters, the president's statements are causing consternation.

British Banker Hong Kong Murder Trial



A British banker accused of murdering two women in Hong Kong has had is plea of manslaughter rejected.


The bodies of two Indonesian women in their 20s were found in Rurik Jutting's apartment in 2014, if convicted he faces life in prison.

German official warns over clown activity

MIGRANTS BEGIN TO LEAVE CALAIS JUNGLE

The first coaches have left the so-called Jungle camp in Calais, taking migrants to refugee centres elsewhere in France.

Over 1000 police officers and French officials have started work on clearing the camp which houses around 7000 people.

There were some clashes with police over the weekend.
