Formal Islamist Rebel Found Guilty by ICC

The International Criminal Court has sentenced a former Islamist rebel to nine years in prison for the destruction of holy shrines.

It's the end of the first case the ICC has tried relating to war crimes for the destruction of historical and religious buildings.

Russia denounces responsibility for MH17 crash ahead of Dutch report

Russia accused Ukraine of complicity in the downing of the Malaysian Airlines flight over the rebel-held territory in the east of the country 2 years ago. FA INVESTIGATES SAM ALLARDYCE CLAIMS

England's Football Association is investigating after a newspaper sting appeared to catch national team boss Sam Allardyce offering advice on getting around transfer regulations.

The Telegraph says it has footage of Sam Allardyce meeting a group claiming to be an investment firm and suggesting third party player ownership rules don't have to be a problem.

The newspaper also claims he agreed a lucrative deal with the group - having only just been appointed England boss.

Former Malian rebel leader Ahmad Al-Faqi Al-Mahdi sentenced in The Hague

Former Malian rebel leader Ahmad Al-Faqi Al-Mahdi is being sentenced for crimes of cultural destruction at the International Criminal Court in The Hague.

He was the first person ever to plead guilty at the ICC which has made it the court's shortest ever series of proceedings lasting under a year.

US police officer did not activate body camera during shooting death of black man

A potential piece of evidence in the shooting death of a black man in
the US state of North Carolina is unavailable because one of the
officers failed to activate his body camera.

The death of Keith Lamont Scott has sparked protests with many
rejecting the police's claims that he was holding a gun at the time he

US deeply concerned about Aleppo, Syria

The Obama administration is convinced that the Russians are helping their ally Syria make a concerted effort to bomb civilians into submission.

US adds Chinese firm to North Korean sanctions

The U.S. has added a Chinese firm and four Chinese nationals to its sanctions list, intended to halt North Korea's pursuit of nuclear weapons technology.

Clinton's emails not likely to be made public before Election Day

The U.S. State Department is downplaying any expectations that they will finish their review of Hillary Clinton's emails before November 8, Election Day in the United States.
