Trump used charity funds to settle lawsuits

Donald Trump used funds from his foundation to settle legal disputes against him and his company.

The Washington Post has a paper trail of cancelled checks of more than $250,000 in payments which may violate federal tax laws.

Obama urges global help for refugees

In his final address to the United Nations General Assembly US President Barack Obama has urged countries to open their "hearts" to refugees.

Obama said the world would be a safer place if leaders did more to accept people fleeing their homelands.

The global refugee crisis is a key issue at this year's annual UN meeting, with an estimated 21 million refugees worldwide needing assistance.

President Obama urged the world to act despite the challenges.

Bombing suspect's father says he called FBI two years ago

The father of New York bombing suspect Ahmad Khan Rahami says he called the FBI about his son as far back as 2014.

US media reports Mohammad Rahami also told police two years ago that his son was a terrorist, but that he later recanted his story.

Ahmad Khan Rahami is accused of planting a bomb that injured 29 people, plus two other devices over the weekend.

Another police killing of unarmed black man sparks US federal investigation

American Federal authorities have stepped in to investigate another police killing of an unarmed black man.

40 year old Terence Crutcher was shot to death by a police officer in Tulsa Oklahoma, the latest in a series of similar incidents that have sparked protests across the country.

Work has started on the UK-funded wall in Calais, near what's become known as the 'jungle' migrant camp.


The wall has been commissioned to prevent migrants from entering Britain via trucks and lorries.

NY bombing suspect’s wife left city before attacks: CNN

According to CNN the wife of accused bomber Ahmad Khan Rahami left New
York days before devices were planted in the city.

Rahami was arrested following a gun fight with police and officials

UN Suspends All Aid Convoys in Syria

The United Nations has suspended aid convoys in Syria, the day after an air strike hit some of its trucks near the rebel-held city of Aleppo.

At least one aid worker and around 20 civilians were killed in the attack, and delivery of more relief will be stopped while the UN assesses the security situation.

British man found guilty of defamation by Thai court

A British man has been handed a three year suspended jail sentence by a court in Thailand for defamation and computer crimes.

EU accepts Bosnia's application to be a candidate for membership

Bosnia is now officially a candidate to join the European Union - after Brussels decided its application can move forward.
