Argentinia's President concerned by Brazilian rivalry at the Olympics

US retail sales flat in July

US retail sales growth stalled in July, according to a government report.
It's the first time in three months that the sales at retailers and

Investigation underway after a series of bombings across Thailand

The Thai government is investigating a series of bombings at tourist sites which left four dead and dozens injured.

At least one government official has been quoted that it was an act of sabotage, but Thai experts are questioning whether local insurgents in the southern region were capable of such coordinated attacks.

Verapat Pariyawong is a former legal adviser with the Thai government, now a visiting scholar at the University of London.

US intelligence aware of Democrat Party hack a year ago

U.S. intelligence was aware and was monitoring the Russian hack of the Democratic National Committee a year before the political party was informed, Reuters reports.

Last month, it was revealed that the email servers were hacked when the FBI confirmed their own investigation, just days before the Democrat's nomnating convention in Philadelphia.

Sabotage, not terror to blame in Thai bombings

At least four are dead and dozens injured after a series of explosions in the Thai holiday town of Hua Din.

The violence coincides with the celebrations of  Queen Sirikit's 84th birthday.

Trump walks back "Obama is founder of ISIS" comments

Donald Trump seems to be walking back from his claim that Barack Obama is the "founder of ISIS".


He's Tweeted that his comment - repeated numerous times over the past few days - was "sarcasm" that's been misinterpreted by the American media.

London schoolgirl believed to have died in IS stronghold

One of the London school girls who travelled to Syria last year to join the so-called Islamic State, is understood to have been killed in Raqqa.


However the reports have not been verified because of the difficulties in receiving information from Syria.

Tourist towns in Thailand attacked

At least four people have been killed in Thailand, after a series of blasts in tourist areas.


Resorts Hua Hin and Phuket were targeted, with several explosions taking place over the last 24 hours.


There are reports of sporadic blasts still taking place, and it's unclear at this stage who is responsible for the attacks.


A Police spokesman said officials are looking into what happened.

LAPD Officers Shoot and Kill Teen, Claim He Shot First

Los Angeles police shot and killed a 14-year-old boy after he shot at
the officers, police said Wednesday. The department's gang unit
spotted Jesse Romero while investigating a vandalism call and only
shot him after he allegedly fired a gun in their direction during a
pursuit.

Turkey's President asks US to extradite alleged coup-leader, Fetullah Gulen

Rio Olympics - Kenyan Doping Scandal

A second Kenyan athletics coach has been sent home from the Olympics, as the doping problems widen.
It's alleged the coach tried to give a urine sample in the place of one of the athletes. The IOC have no launched an investigation.
