Donald Trump says Republicans are more united around his Presidential candidacy than ever.


He's dismissing reports that senior party figures are trying to find ways of persuading him to bow out of the Presidential race.

Venezuelan General Indicted for Drug Trafficking Appointed Justice Minister

Venezuela's new interior and justice minister has been indicted on drug trafficking charges by US authorities.
President Nicolás Maduro  appointed General Nestor Reverol to the positions just one day after New York prosecutors filed  charges against him.

White House insists Iran $400 million cash payment was not "ransom" for hostages

The White House is pushing back against Republican claims that a $400 million cash payment to Iran amounted to "ransom" in exchange for the freedom of American prisoners jailed by Tehran.


President Obama's spokesman says the money was a refund of cash paid by Iran to the US in 1979 in exchange for military equipment that was never subsequently supplied.

BoE expected to cut interest rates
