Promising to win big, Donald Trump escorted his wife on stage as she gave the opening keynote at the 2016 Republican Party convention.

Melania Trump has rarely been seen in public, preferring to remain in New York to raise their ten-year-old son, while the candidate's older children are deeply involved in their father's campaign.

Mother stuns Republican convention with emotional appeal

The mother of one of the men killed when the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya was attack in 2012 has stunned many by her emotional appeal for an apology.

Sean Smith, an information technology specialist, was killed along with U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and two other Americans when the compound was attacked.

On the floor of the Republican nominating convention in Cleveland, Pat Smith, the mother, said she personally blames Hillary Clinton for her son's death.

Four injured in German train attack

Police in Wuerzberg, Germany have now confirmed, four people were injured when a man attacked them on a train with an axe and a knife.

The attacker was shot, and later identified as a teen-aged Afghani refugee.

NASA to test DNA sequencing in space with SpaceX Dragon landing

Gunman Aimed Only to Kill Officers in Baton Rouge

Police in the city of Baton Rouge, Louisiana  say they believe they were the sole target of a shooting in which three died and three were injured . 

29 year-old Gavin Long considered himself a spiritual leader and revolutionary, according to his various Internet postings.

The former US Marine traveled to Baton Rouge, the scene of a recent high profile shooting by a police officer of a black man.

After killing three policemen and wounding three others on Sunday, Gavin Long  was shot dead by another officer

AP: Restrictions on Iran Nuclear Programme Halve Time Needed For a Bomb

The Associated Press says it's obtained secret documents showing that key restrictions on Iran's nuclear programme will ease in just over ten years, halving the time needed to build a bomb.

WH: Urges Turkey Pres. to show restraint follwing failed coup

The United States is urging Turkey's leader to show restraint and respect the rule of law following failed coup attempt over the weekend.  

President Recep Erdogan has rounded up some six-thousand members of the military after they unsuccessfully tried to overthrow his government.

Kremlin suspends sports officials implicated in WADA report, questions findings

Following the publication of the World Anti-Doping Agency's independent commission report, which proved state-sponsored doping among Russian athletes, the Russian President ordered to suspend officials implicated in it.
