United Nations condemns "horrific" Nice attack

The United Nations has described the attack in Nice as "horrific", "barbaric and cowardly".

At least 84 people have died when a man drove a truck into a crowd of people celebrating Bastille Day.

Newt Gingrich calls for screenings, deportations of Muslims

Newt Gingrich, one-time presidential candidate and on Donald Trump's short list to be his running mate, thinks that all Muslims should be screened and if they believe in sharia law, deported.

He made the comments to the Fox News Channel in the hours following the tragic attack in Nice, France, and insists that the West needs to know who it's enemies are.

NICE ATTACKER 'IDENTIFIED'

The man who drove a truck into a crowd of people in the French city of Nice has been identified by French police sources.

At least 84 people have died in the Bastille Day attack carried out by 31 year old Franco-Tunisian man Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel.

French President Francois Hollande says military action in Syria and Iraq will be intensified after the attack in Nice which has killed at least 84.

President Hollande also says a state of emergency which was due to expire on the 26th July will be extended for three months.

Terrorism expert Dr David Lowe says the incident shouldn't lead to panicked decisions.

Two Americans Among Those Killed in Nice

The US State Department has confirmed that two Americans were among those killed when a lorry drove into a crowd of Bastille Day revellers in the French city of Nice.

Security Fears Mount Ahead of US Political Conventions

Senior U.S. national security officials say they are worried about the
potential for violence at the Republican National Convention to be

Obama, Clinton, Trump condemn terror attack in Nice

President Obama has condemned the attack in Nice as "horrific" and says he's offering the French government whatever assistance they need bringing those responsible to justice.


In other reaction, Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump is postponing the unveiling of his running mate which was due to take place on Friday morning in New York.


Mr. Trump told America's Fox News the attacks only underscored the fact that he's been right to call for tougher against to protect America and western society.

Trump Postpones VP Announcement
