Portugal Defeats France in Euro 2016 Final

Portugal upset favorite and host country France in the Euro 2016 final and claims their first major tournament win.

The win was pulled off by Portugal—even though team captain Cristiano Ronaldo was injured in the first half.

Australian Prime Minister prepares to form new government

Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has been given the royal nod to form a government as the Nationals prepare a wishlist for a new coalition agreement.
The prime minister met with Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet secretary Martin Parkinson in Canberra on Monday, a day after Labor leader Bill Shorten conceded defeat in the federal election.

Merkel pushes for access to Turkish air base

US retail sales in focus as earnings season begins

Data in the week ahead is likely to show another month of increased retail sales in the United States.

Australian election result - Coalition wins, but on a knife edge

in Australia's federal election.
On Sunday afternoon the Opposition leader conceded defeat 8 days after
the election day when it became clear that the Liberal/National party

10 US States Sue US Government Over Transgender Bathroom Rules

Ten US states have announced they will sue the federal government over a new rule that allows public school students to use the bathroom that aligns with their gender identity.


The White House made that declaration back in May.

US Regulators Sanction Blood Lab Theranos

US health regulators have banned the founder and CEO of Theranos from owning and running a medical laboratory for two year.

The company claimed its technology enabled it to perform blood tests with blood from a pinprick instead of a traditional blood draw.

Fans welcome home Wales 2016 Euro Team

Thousand of Welsh fans have welcomed home the Euro 2016 squad after they made it to the semi-finals of the Championship.

It was the first time the national team reached a major tournament for more than 50 years.

US and South Korea to deploy missile defense system

One of the Dallas Police Shooting Suspects Named

One of the suspects in the overnight shooting to death of five police officers in Dallas told them  he wanted to kill white officers.

That man, who was later killed, has been named as Micah Xavier Johnson.

He appears to have been angered by recent high profile police shootings in other cities.

Officers identified in Minnesota shooting

The police officers who were directly involved in the shooting death of Philando Castile in a town outside Minneapolis St. Paul have been identified  Joseph Kauser and  Jeronimo Yanez, who shot multiple times.

Across Minnesota, and in fact across the United States, protestors took to the street to protest against police violence and in support of the victims of racially-motivated violence.

Calls for more peace, fewer guns following week of violence

As the U.S. mourns the deaths of two African-American men and five police officers in Dallas, Americans across the nation are calling for change.

From the NATO Summit in Warsaw, U.S. President Barack Obama promised the issue of gun violence will be addressed, as well as the issues of racial inequality, sub-standard education and the lack of economic opportunity for all.

From the well of the U.S. House of Representatives, a clearly moved Speaker Paul Ryan said that everyone wants the violence to stop.
