CAMERON: UK will benefit from EU membership until Brexit

UK Prime Minister David Cameron has said Britain will continue to benefit from its membership to the European Union until it leaves.

Speaking in Prime Minister's Questions, Mr Cameron said European Leaders had reassured him that until a Brexit was carried out, the UK would still be considered a full member of the EU.

Cameron warns of "choppy waters" ahead

Prime Minister David Cameron has warned his fellow MPs there are "choppy waters" ahead after Britain's voted for a Brexit, leaving the European Union, in a referendum last week. 

Mr Cameron also condemned an apparent upturn in racially motivated attacks which have followed the vote. 

In a rowdy session  of Prime Minsters Questions time, David Cameron reported on his talks with European leaders in Brussels saying it would be for his successor to negotiate the UK's future relationship with its European neighbors.

The British leader said now was a time to reassure businesses concerned by the uncertainty triggered by the Brexit vote, that the UK economy continued to be strong.

David Cameron condemns Istanbul attacks

UK Prime Minister David Cameron has condemned the Istanbul attacks, calling them barbaric.

Mr Cameron says he has spoken to the President of Turkey to offer his condolences following the attacks at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport which has left many dead and hundreds injured.

Cameron tells Corbyn to resign as Labour leader

UK Prime Minister David Cameron has told the leader of the Labour party Jeremy Corbyn to resign.

During Prime Minister's Questions in the House of Commons, Mr Cameron criticised Mr Corbyn's efforts during the EU referendum which led a number of his cabinet members to resign.

The Labour leader said quitting would betray the members that support him, but Mr Cameron said it was not in the interest of the UK for Mr Corbyn to continue in his post.

Tory MP Stephen Crabb launches UK leadership campaign

The UK Conservative Cabinet Member Stephen Crabb has become the first to announce he is running as a candidate to become the next British Prime Minister.

In a speech in Central London, the Work and Pensions Secretary said uniting the country is his main priority, following the EU referendum result which he says has left the country 'divided'.

The bid for a new UK leader was launched when Prime Minister David Cameron announced he would resign following the Brexit vote.

Report warns of right-wing violence in Germany

Attacks by far-right extremists in Germany rose over forty percent last year, fueled by the arrival of more than a million asylum seekers, according to a new government report.

ISTANBUL ATTACKS 'PROBABLY ISLAMIC STATE'

Turkey says it believes the Islamic State was behind a gun and bomb attack on Ataturk airport in Istanbul which killed 36 people.

140 others were injured in the incident inside and outside the terminal.

Three attackers blew themselves up after being fired at by police.

A spate of recent bombings in Turkey have been blamed on the Islamic State or Kurdish separatists.

Russia and United States blame each other for maritime incident

Russia and the United States gave contradictory accounts of an incident involving the two countries' navies in the Mediterranean Sea on 17 June.  They blamed each other for what they said were unsafe manoeuvres.  Russia's Defence Ministry said a US destroyer had dangerously approached a Russian warship. However, a US Defence official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said the Russian warship had carried out 'unsafe and unprofessional' operations near two US Navy ships.  Julia Lyubova reports from Moscow.

Turkey blames Islamic State for airport attacks

The Turkish government is blaming Islamic State for a co-ordinated attack on Istanbul Airport that has left at least 36 people dead and 147 more wounded. 


At least three attackers opened fire at entrances to the airport before blowing themselves up as police moved in.


Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has condemned the attack and called for a joint global fight against terrorism.

Cameron insists EU meetings were positive

British Prime Minister David Cameron says his meetings with EU officials were positive.

He's currently guiding the beginning of the exit of the United Kingdom from the European Union until the Conservative Party picks a new prime minister.

In Brussels, David Cameron did not indicate that the formal process under article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty has been launched.

Suicide attack on Turkish airport kills at least 28

Turkish officials are describing the explosions which killed at lesat 28 and injured another 60 at the Attaturk International Airport as a suicide attack.

It's one of the world's busiest airports.

The U.S. State Department had earlier issued a travel warning against trips to Turkey by Americans.

At leat 28 are reported dead and more than 60 injured following a series of explosions at Turkey's Attaturk International Airport.

Intelligence experts believe that this attack is similar to the one in Brussels, Belgium, in the style of the Islamic State, but no group has claimed responsibility.

White House says Republicans playing politics with Benghazi report

The Obama administration says House Republicans are doing nothing but playing politics after spending $7 million on the special Benghazi report.

The White House notes that this is the 8th report on the attacks on the US compound in Benghazi in September 2012 which left Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans dead.
