VW Agrees to Record Vehicle Buy-Back

Volkswagen’s settlement with nearly half a million US diesel owners and government regulators will reportedly cost the company about 15 billion dollars.

The settlement terms are to be submitted Tuesday to a California judge whose final approval will be required for the deal to take effect.

Final report on Benghazi expected soon

The Democrats on the Benghazi panel in the U-S House of Representatives have released their report, charging their Republicans counterparts with targeting Hillary Clinton politically.

The purpose of the special committee was to investigate who was responsible for the deaths of Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans in an attack on the US compound in Benghazi, Libya on September 11-12, 2012

Olympics a big failure? warning by local officials

The acting governor of Rio de Janeiro has warned that the forthcoming Olympic Games could be a 'big failure'. 

The state claims to have almost run out of money and declared a financial emergency last week.

White House welcomes US Supreme Court ruling on abortion

The Obama administration is welcoming the decision by the U.S. Supreme Court to strike down a Texas law on women's health clinics.

The regulations forced the closure of many Texas clinics which provided abortions, and the nation's highest court found this was an undue burden.

At the White House, Principal Deputy Press Secretary Eric Schultz said this ruling is in keeping with U.S. President Barack Obama's belief that a woman should have the right to make decisions about her own body.

Special relationship endures - US on Brexit

American officials are trying to reassure everyone that nothing has changed in how the United States relates to the United Kingdom in the days following the so-called Brexit vote.

Standards and Poor downgrades UK's AAA Credit Rating

Rating agency Standards and Poor has stripped the UK of its prized AAA credit rating, after the country voted to leave the European Union.


The country is feeling the aftershocks of the Referendum, with the pound falling to a 30 year low with banking shares and house builders being hit.


Mr Cameron has tried to calm fears during his first speech to parliament after the vote, as our UK Correspondent Natalie Powell reports….

Russian athletes appeal IAAF's Olympics ban

Russian track and field athletes have filed a joint appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) objecting the ruling of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) banning them from the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Police Investigate Melee at Sacramento Rally

Two people are recovering from critical wounds after violence broke out at a neo-Nazi rally at California's state capitol over the weekend. 

The clash was between a white nationalist group called the Traditionalist Worker Party, which reportedly wanted to assist supporters of Donald Trump, and a larger group of counter-protesters.

US Supreme Court strikes down Texas abortion restrictions

In a big win for abortion rights activists, the United States supreme court has struck down a Texas law that limited abortions.

Investors in the United States are preparing for another volatile day
of trading as Britain's decision to leave the European Union continues
to weigh on global markets.

US secretary of state John Kerry has reasserted his position that the US will continue to work with the European Union and the UK despite the British vote to leave the EU.

52 per cent of the UK voted to exit the EU last week which has left the British government and opposition in the parliament in chaos.

EU leaders meet in Berlin to agree Brexit response

German chancellor Angela Merkel, French president Francois Hollande and Italian prime minister Matteo Renzi are meeting in Berlin to agree a joint strategy on Brexit.

BORIS JOHNSON URGES CALM AFTER BREXIT

One of the front-runners to become Britain's next Prime Minister says EU nationals living in the UK will have their rights protected as the country moves towards a Brexit.

Boris Johnson has also welcomed Chancellor George Osborne's attempts to calm the markets following last week's British vote to leave the EU.
