FBI releases 911 calls from Orlando shooter

The FBI has released partial transcripts of calls the Orlando shooter made during his rampage at a gay nightclub.

Authorities say Omar Mateen spoke to police in a "chilling, calm and deliberate manner" as he swore allegiance to a terrorist organization.

Mateen killed 49 people at the Pulse nightclub just over a week ago.

David Cameron and Jeremy Corbyn pay tribute to MP Jo Cox


The British Parliament has been recalled from the EU Referendum recess to pay tribute to Labour MP Jo Cox who was killed in her constituency on Thursday.


Her murder is the first of a sitting MP since 1990 and  a public memorial event is planned for Wednesday in London's Trafalgar Square.


The man accused of the MP's murder, 52 year old Thomas Mair,  has been remanded in custody.

Five Detained After Russian Boat Tragedy

Five staff administrators at a children's summer camp in Russia have been detained and are being questioned by police, after a boating tragedy on a nearby lake.

At least 13 teenagers died when two boats they were using capsized in the northwestern region of Karelia this weekend.

Number of displaced people reaches new high

The United Nations has announced that the number of people around the
world displaced by conflict has reached a record high.

65.3 million people are either asylum seekers, internally displaced or

Cameron must abandon pledge to reduce UK net migration, Vote Leave says

The UK Prime Minister David Cameron must abandon his 'impossible' pledge to reduce net migration to below 100,000 if he wins the EU referendum, Vote Leave has said. 

Labour MP Gisela Stuart, the Leave campaign's co-chair said promising to control the numbers of people arriving the UK and failing to deliver was 'corrosive' of public trust in politicians. 

The British public will cast their vote this week, whether the UK should leave or remain in the European Union.

Human rights watchdog says Turkish troops shot refugees on border

Eight Syrian refugees have been shot dead by Turkish border guards as they tried to escape war-torn northern Syria, according to human rights watchdog. 
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says a total of 60 Syrian refugees have been shot at the border since the start of the year.

'REMAIN' BOOSTED IN UK REFERENDUM POLLS

European stock markets opened sharply higher and the British pound rose against the dollar in early trading, as fears of a Brexit eased.

Latest polls suggest the REMAIN camp has been boosted in recent days ahead of Britain's EU referendum on Thursday.

It follows the murder of MP Jo Cox last week, who was campaigning for the UK to remain an EU member.
