Donald Trump to meet with NRA over gun reform

Donald Trump has said he will meet with the National Rifle Association to discuss gun reform.

The presumptive Republican nominee suffered a drop in poll ratings following his reaction to the shooting in Orlando, Florida.

Argentina: Ex government official arrested after throwing cash into a monastery


A former minister in Argentina has been arrested after someone reported to have seen him throwing bags into a monastery. 


Police officials discovered that the bags contained some $7 million in dollars, yen, euros and other currencies.

Wife of Orlando Gunman Expected to Face Charges

The wife of a man who killed 49 people in Orlando could soon be formally charged in connection with the attack,  according to law enforcement sources.

Iran in multi-billion Boeing deal

Iran is to unveil the terms of a multibillion-dollar deal to purchase around one hundred Boeing passenger planes.

Russian Summons French Ambassafor, Blames England Fans For 'Provoking' Violence

Russia's foreign minister has said English fans' role in the disturbances during his country's match against England last weekend shouldn't be ignored.

Sergei Lavrov also sharply criticised French policing of the Euro 2016 tournament, and the French Ambassador to Moscow has been summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Pistorius removes prosthetic legs for judge at his sentencing hearing

Paralympic athlete Oscar Pistorius removed his prosthetic legs and walked around a court at the request of his lawyer ahead of his sentencing for shooting dead his girlfriend Reeve Steenkamp in 2013. 

The South African athlete was visibly upset as he demonstrated his disability for the judge who will decide what sentence to impose.  This comes  after the country's Court of Appeal overturned an earlier conviction of manslaughter and found him guilty of murder. 

The athlete could face a 15 year jail term.    Pistorius has always maintained he fired through a bathroom door at Steenkamp in the belief she was an intruder.

UK unemployment at lowest rate for 11 years

Britain's unemployment rate has fallen to 5%, its lowest level for eleven years.

Figures from the Office for National Statistics show the total number of people without jobs fell to 1.67 million from February to April - that's 20,000 fewer than the three months to January.

Osborne warns a Brexit will require emergency budget, his own MPs threaten to block the move

Britain's Finance Minister is warning he will be forced to slash public spending and increase tax revenues in an emergency budget if Britain votes for a so-called Brexit in an upcoming referendum on whether to stay or leave the European Union.

Lille braced for further clashes between England and Russia fans

French authorities are restricting the sale of alcohol and drafting in 4000 extra police in Lille ahead of England and Russia's next Euro 2016 matches.
Shops selling alcohol are closed until Friday and bars will have to shut early on Wednesday and Thursday.

OSBORNE WARNS BREXIT WILL MEAN MASSIVE AUSTERITY

British finance minister George Osborne is warning of massive spending cuts and tax increases if the UK votes to leave the European Union.

He says he would be forced to put in place an emergency budget to tackle a massive 'black hole' in public finances in the event of a Brexit.

However, many of his own MPs accuse him of scare-mongering, as well as suggesting they wouldn't back such a budget, and moreover that Mr Osborne may no longer be in his job if a Brexit does take place.

Britain votes next Thursday on whether to stay in the European Union.

Putin To Meet UN Leaders, Former French President
