Death penalty approved in Charleston mass murder

The U.S. Justice Department intends to seek the death penalty against Dylann Roof.

On June 17, 2015, he shot nine people dead during a bible study at a church in Charleston, South Carolina.

New Yorker faces terrorism charges for IS support

A New York man has been arrested for allegedly providing support to

The pre-trial hearing heard evidence from Cosby's accuser, Andrea Constand, who claims the actor assaulted her after drugging her with three pills.


That testimony was read in court, and District Attorney Kevin Steele told reports that there was no need for the accuser to make a personal appearance.

Samples from 2008 Olympics showed positive results for 14 Russian athletes

The International Olympic Committee has informed the Russian Olympic Committee that 14 Russian athletes are suspected of using doping at the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing.  Russian media has named the athletes whose samples taken at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing had illegal drugs in them. Pink Panther star Burt Kwouk dead at 85

The actor Burt Kwouk, best known for his role playing Inspector Clouseau's man-servant Cato in the Pink Panther films has died at the age of 85.


Born in Manchester but raised in Shanghai, he starred in seven Pink Panther films opposite Peter Sellers.


He also appeared in the BBC sitcom "Last of the Summer Wine", and the wartime British TV drama "Tenko".


In a 2010 interview he was asked how he'd got the part of Cato.

Mexico: Authorities begin exhumation process


Mexican authorities have announced they will begin exhuming the bodies of about 116 people believed to be victims of drug cartel and gang violence.

The bodies were found in a mass grave in the central state of Morelos. The grave was discovered last November and it consists of two 10m (33ft) deep pits.

Facebook to alter guidelines for trending topics after internal investigation

Moscow denies reports that Daesh destroyed Russian attack helicopters at Syrian base

Russia's Interfax news agency says that the Ministry of Defence has denied reports of Russian military helicopters being destroyed at a Syrian airbase.
