Obama Raises Human Rights, Maritime Disputes in Vietnam Speech

US President Barack Obama has spoken of the need to uphold human rights and resolve maritime disputes peacefully, during remarks to the Vietnamese people in the capital Hanoi.

He was speaking the day after lifting a US embargo on arms sales to Vietnam, which has led to a warning from China about not stoking regional tensions.

14 Russian athletes suspected of doping at Beijing 2008 Olympics

The International Olympic Committee (or IOC) is suspecting 14 more Russian athletes of using doping at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, the capital of China. Moscow struggles to secure a chance for its clean athletes to qualify for and compete at this yeas' Olympic Games in Brazil amid international criticism of widespread doping and corruption in Russian sports and calls to ban Russian athletes from the competition. Greece Confident More Bailout Money Will Be Unlocked

While President Barack Obama called this weekend's death of Afghan Taliban leader Mullah Mansour a milestone that paves the way for ending the Afghan conflict, the Taliban's leadership was meeting to choose a successor.

Pakistan protests following airstrike

UN: World Health Organization warns of increasing risk of Zika after failed policies

US Lifts Embargo On Arms Sales To Vietnam

The US has lifted a decades-long arms embargo on Vietnam, during President Obama's trip to the capital Hanoi.

Mr. Obama's the third American president to visit the capital since the US war with Vietnam ended in 1975, and said the removal of the embargo removed a 'lingering vestige of the Cold War'.

OBAMA ENDS VIETNAM ARMS EMBARGO

The US is lifting its embargo on sales of lethal weapons to Vietnam.

Barack Obama announced the move during a visit to the country.
