Germany moves to annul homosexuality convictions

Germany's Justice Minister said he will move forward with plans to annul convictions for homosexuality under an archaic law.

About 50,000 mean were convicted in West Germany between 1946 and 1969.

Protests in Venezuela against delay to government recall petition

Thousands of people are taking to the streets in Venezuela to demonstrate against a major delay in the processing a government recall petition.

The opposition in the country has collected nearly 2 million signatures but the National Electoral Council is yet to validate - a step which could result in a referendum to overthrow the government.

NIGERIA 'WON'T DEMAND CAMERON CORRUPTION APOLOGY'

Nigeria's President says he won't be demanding an apology after Britain's Prime Minister was overheard telling the Queen that Nigeria is 'fantastically corrupt'.

Muhammadu Buhari instead says he will be asking for further British assistance in the fight against corruption.

British Prime Minister David Cameron was caught on camera making the comments to Queen Elizabeth ahead of a summit in London on Thursday on corruption.

In the House of Commons Mr Cameron responded to a question from a lawmaker on British overseas territories which are used as tax havens - with a reference to his own diplomatic gaffe.

Germany to loosen public wifi rules

The German government is set to loosen restrictive rules on shared wireless networks, paving the way for many more businesses to offer free wifi.

Currently businesses are liable for any illegal behavior that takes place on their wireless networks.

UK 'losing share of international student market'

The UK immigration strategy is costing the country its share in the international student market, according to a new all-party parliamentary group.

This comes after warnings from academics and members of Parliament that the inclusion of international students in targets to cut net migration is putting them off coming to the UK.

Five men, intending to sail from Australia to join IS, arrested.

Diet king con Peter Foster fined again in Australian court

Notorious conman Peter Foster has been ordered to pay $660,000 (more than 336,000 pounds or $US485,000) over his SensaSlim oral diet spray scam by the Federal Court of Australia.

West Ham Fans Investigated for Man Utd Bus Attack

Police in the UK are investigating an attack on the Manchester United team bus by West Ham fans, ahead of the match at Upton Park between the two sides.


The West Ham football club says it will issue life bans to any fans found responsible for the incident, in which objects were thrown at the bus outside the ground.

Brown enters the Brexit fray

Former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown has entered the argument over whether the UK should remain or leave the European Union, saying it's not British to retreat to what he called the sidelines of Europe.

1,284 new planets discovered by NASA

NASA announced their Kepler space telescope has discovered 1,284 more planets outside of our solar system, more than doubling the number of known Kepler exoplanets. 

Of all the new planets, nine of them reside in a habitable zone which could potentially support life.
