"El Chapo" Faces Extradition to United States

A Mexican judge has ruled that the notorious head of a Mexican drug cartel can be extradited to the United States.

Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman was recently moved to a prison close the US border.

Israel to extradite two citizens to US to stand trial over cybercrime, securities fraud


Israel will extradite two of its citizens to the United State to face trial over securities fraud and cyber-crime, including over the hacking of US banking giant JPMorgan Chase.


Ziv Orenstein and Gery Shalon were arrested in Israel in July at the request of the U.S. Justice Department.

Chilcot Findings Date Set

Families of British service personnel killed in the Iraq war have finally been given a date for the Chilcot Report.


The findings of the inquiry which was launched in 2009 will be published on July 6th.

UN warns up to 5.3 million in South Sudan at risk of food crisis

According to the United Nations, more than five million people in
South Sudan are in danger of going hungry.

The number of people facing food insecurity has nearly doubled in the
last several months as the country approaches a season of poor
harvest.

Firefighters winning battle against Canada wildfires

Russia downplays fresh doping allegations

The CBS News' show "60 Minutes" aired an investigation on Russian sports alleging top Russian athletes and Olympic medalists were involved in doping during 2014 Winter Olympic Games. Russian Sports Ministry denied allegations as part of "information attack" on Russia while the World Anti-Doping Agency pledged to look into this "very disturbing" media report. US government sued by North Carolina over 'Transgender-bathroom law'

US State North Carolina is suing the federal government after the Justice Department tried to make the state drop its so-called "bathroom law."

North Carolina is facing a deadline over the controversial law, introduced earlier this year, which requires transgender people to use public facilities based on the gender on their birth certificate.

Belgian Dispatch Center Refused to Send Extra Help After Brussels Attacks

Despite repeated requests for more medics and ambulances, an emergency dispatch center refused to send extra help after two suicide bombers blew themselves up at Brussels' Zaventem Airport.

That's according to a government investigation into how authorities responded to the attacks that took place on the morning of March the 22nd.

Win in NYC Keeps New Zealand in America's Cup Lead

Emirates Team New Zealand snatched a dramatic victory on Sunday, in the latest battle to decide who'll face defending champions the US in next year's America's Cup yachting competition.

This weekend saw the contest return to its original home, New York City, for the first time since 1920 - as part of series of races that sees five teams vie for a spot in the main event in Bermuda next year.

After a tricky beginning when they earned a penalty for crossing the start line early, the Kiwis roared from last to first place, ahead of hosts Oracle Team USA, to take the regatta with 52 points.
