160 countries sign Paris Climate Change agreement

Around 160 countries are at the United Nations to officially sign the
Paris climate change agreement.

It's being hailed as an historic event. But environmentalists are
already saying the agreement needs to go further, to better reduce
carbon emissions.

Brussels Suicide Bomber Previously Held Foreigners Hostage in Syria

One of the suicide bombers behind the Brussels attacks has been identified as a former holder of foreign hostages in Syria.

OBAMA URGES 'BREMAIN'

US President Barack Obama is urging Britain to remain inside the European Union, as he visits the UK.

President Obama is meeting the Queen to celebrate her 90th birthday, as well as the younger royals.

The agenda for talks at Downing Street includes fighting terrorism, the Islamic State, and pushing for stability in Libya.

But President Obama's visit comes ahead of Britain's EU referendum in June and he has written in the Telegraph newspaper that the UK is stronger as a member.

OBAMA VISITS UK TO MAKE EU CASE



US President Barack Obama arrives in the UK later (Thursday 2100G approx) / has arrived in the UK (amend as required) and is expected to make the case for Britain staying in the European Union.

European Central Bank keeps interest rates unchanged at 0%

The European Central Bank has kept interest rates at record lows as it waits to see if economic stimulus measures announced in March. 

The monthly council of the ECB meeting in Frankfurt has made very few changes to its program which includes 90 billion dollars per month of government bond buying.

Significantly, the ECB president Mario Draghi insisted they have no discussed so called "Helicopter money" which would see the central bank injecting cash into the real economy for the first time ever.

Interest rates in the Eurozone remain at zero and the ECB has kept the rate it costs banks to park their money in the central bank at minus nought point four percent to encourage banks to invest in business.

All the measures are intended to tackle weak growth and low inflation in the eurozone.
