Syria ceasefire plan to be discussed in Geneva
Top Russian diplomat confirmed a possible plan for ceasefire in Syria is to be discussed in Geneva on Friday. The agreement to implement a "cessation of hostilities" was agreed on by the United States and Russia at an International Security Conference in Munich last week. The announcement comes amid continued Russian air strikes in Syria and increasing number of casualties among civilians reported by humanitarian organizations working on the ground. Incumbent President Museveni in Early lead as Uganda Partial Results are Released

Incumbent President Yoweri Museveni is leading by 61%, according to early results released late thursday day.
Uganda's elections were on thursday marred by delays in voting after materials were delivered late, triggering chaos in some polling stations in the capital.

Uganda's electoral body says partial results released so far are from 23% of the polling stations in the country.
President Museveni is leading by an edge.
Main opposition candidate Kiiza Besigye is second in place with 33%. followed by former prime minister Amama Mbabazi.
Voting turned chaotic on thursday after massive delays in delivery of voting material affected the exercise.
Over 36 polling stations around Kampala were not able to vote on time.
The electoral body has now extended the polling in affected places to Friday. Second round of provisional results are expected in a few hours. Final results will be announced on saturday.

Trump rejects Pope Francis criticism
Donald Trump has hit back after Pope Francis suggested that the Republican front-runner cannot be considered a real Christian because of his position on immgration.

US condemns Turkey bomb attack
Violence Breaks during Polling in Uganda.
Uganda's electoral body has extended voting time in some areas around the capital and its suburbs.
Violence erupted after angry voters demanded to know why there were delays in arrival of voting materials for hours.
Chaos broke out in some parts of the capital Kampala after hours of waiting in queues.
Voting materials were not delivered on time, delaying the voting process for over 6 hours in some polling stations.
Voters in affected areas are disappointed with the electoral process.
There were reports that angry voters attacked polling assistants and tore ballot papers.
Police fired tear-gas to disperse crowds.
The electoral commission has apologized for the mishap and regrets the delay…..It has now extended polling time to 15GMT from 13GMT.
There is no confirmation whether this will affect the time when results will be announced.
Results were expected within 48 hours after polling closes.
The Kremlin denies S-300 delivery to Iran
The Kremlin says no date was set for shipping of a Russian missile defense system to Iran quoting contractual complications. Earlier Russian media reported the first dispatch of the S-300 system was expected on Thursday. Julia Lyubova reports from Moscow.
