Human error caused fatal German train crash

Investigators said a mistake by a train controller caused last week's train crash in Germany that killed eleven people and injured more than eighty.

The controller has been moved by authorities to a secret location and faces criminal charges.

Four OPEC Countries Agree to Freeze Oil Output

The oil ministers of three Opec countries as well as Russia's energy minister, have agreed to freeze oil output at January prices. The agreement took place in Doha between Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Venezuela and Russia, and other countries are expected to sign up soon. Albina Kovalyova reports.

MINER ANGLO REPORTS VAST LOSS

British-based miner Anglo American has reported a pre-tax loss for 2015 of over $5.5bn.

The company, whose debt is now rated as junk, has unveiled a major restructuring plan in an attempt to return its finances to health in the face of slumping raw materials prices.

US band Eagles of Death metal to return to Paris

The California-based band Eagles of Death Metal will return to the stage in Paris.

They were on stage at the Bataclan when terrorists opened fire as part of a massive attack on Paris on November 13, which left 130 dead and 350 injured.

Donald Tusk in Prague to stave off Eastern European opposition to UK deal

European Council president Donald Tusk heads to Prague on Tuesday for a summit with Eastern European leaders - in an attempt to stop them from trying to block the UK's EU reform package.

4 killed by gas explosion in a residential building in Russia, many feared trapped under rubble

At least four people have died, nine were hospitalized after a gas explosion rocked an apartment building in the town of Yaroslavl some 270 km to the north-east of Moscow. Over a dozen of residents possibly still remain under debris. Investigation is under way, Russian officials say. Daria Bondarchuk reports from the Russian capital.

Grammy Awards Celebrate Diversity

The Motion Picture Academy may be under fire because of its recent list of acting nominees lacking a single person of color, but the Recording Academy's big night Monday celebrated artists of all backgrounds. African American rapper Kendrick Lamar won a Grammy Award for best rap album, Taylor Swift became the first female to win Album of the Year twice, and the colorful collaborative "Uptown" Funk took home the trophy for Record of the Year.

Lady Gaga honored the late rocker David Bowie at the show, performing a medley of songs including "Space Oddity," "Fame," and 'Ziggy Stardust."

Obama will visit Vietnam in May

US President Barack Obama has announced plans to visit Vietnam in May, after the G7 summit that is due to take place in Japan.


The news broke at the US-ASEAN summit meeting taking place in California.


It goes into its second day on Tuesday, with a focus on terrorism and security issues.

Former pres. Bush campaigns for his brother

Former U.S. President George W. Bush has hit the campaign trail ahead of the South Carolina caucuses to support his brother, Jeb Bush.

After his time in the White House, George W. Bush has made a concious effort to stay out of American politics, while former U.S. President Bill Clinton has been campaigning actively for Hillary Clinton, his wife, for weeks.

US condemns deadly airstrikes on Syrian hospitals

The United States has condemned a deadly wave of airstrikes in northern Syria that destroyed multiple-medical centers.

As many as 50 civilians have been killed and many more wounded in missile attacks on at least five hospitals and two schools, according to the United Nations.
