CAMERON HAILS REFORM DEAL DRAFT

UK Prime Minister David Cameron says a draft deal on reforming Britain's relationship with the European Union would deliver meaningful change.

Mr Cameron will hope to win agreement at a summit in Brussels later this month, for the deal published by the European Council.

It includes some possible limits to benefits for migrants, and exempts Britain from the principle of 'ever closer union'.

If EU member states agree to the proposals, Mr Cameron is then expected to hold an in-out referendum on Britain's membership as early as June.

The Prime Minister says it's a real opportunity.

Iowa behind them, US candidates head to New Hampshire

Hillary Clinton has been declared the official winner of the Iowa Caucuses, but only by the narrowest of margins over the socialist Senator from Vermont, Bernie Sanders.


On the Republican side, Senator Ted Cruz upset the race by beating Donald Trump - both men are now heading to New Hampshire, where voters go to the polls a week from today,

France and Belgium agree to set up anti-terror cooperation

French and Belgium have agreed to intensify cooperation to fight against terrorism following a meeting of the two countries' Prime Ministers in Brussels.
 
The Paris attacks which killed 130 people in November 2015, claimed by the Islamic State terror group, were planned in the Belgian capital.

UK blames Russia for "prolonging" Syrian war

The British Foreign Secretary accused Russia of fanning the humanitarian crisis in Syria and prolonging the civil conflict in the country. Negotiations on peaceful resolution of the political and military stalemate between the warring sides of the Syrian conflicts are underway in Switzerland. UK - EU REFORM DEAL TO BE PRESENTED

A so-called 'red card' system to veto unwanted EU laws has reportedly been agreed as part of the UK reform deal with the European Union.

EU Council president Donald Tusk is set to reveal a draft arrangement for Britain's relationship with Brussels.

It will be put to leaders at an EU summit on the 18th and 19th of February.

UK Prime Minister David Cameron would then be expected to hold an in-out EU referendum in June this year.

However, Donald Tusk has warned of some 'outstanding issues' which are thought to relate to Britain's attempts to curb welfare payments to migrants.

Republican Senator Ted Cruz of Texas has won the Iowa caucuses, with Donald Trump and Marco Rubio in a near tie for second place.

He thanked the many Christian conservatives of Iowa for his win.

Ted Cruz has won the Iowa caucuses, the first contest that actually counts in the 2016 U.S. presidential nominating race.

Candidates make final pitches in Iowa

Huge numbers of Iowans lined up to participate in the caucuses, the first event which actually counts in the nominating contest to be the next president of the United States.

Ben Carson was once leading in the polls, but faded after a series of poor performances at the debates.

His campaign has already announced, he's stopping at his home in Florida before heading to New Hampshire, which holds it's primary next week.

World health emergency for zika virus

The rapid emergence of zika virus infections has put the disease in the same category as Ebola, a public health emergency of international concern, says the world health organization.

Brazil says, there have been at least 4,000 cases of zika infection since October and that number is expected to rise.

The Director-General of the World Health Organization Dr. Margaret Chan says they are particularly worried about the nerve and brain complications.

Syrian talks underway in Geneva

After delays, the United Nations Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura has decided that negotiations have now formally begun.

After nearly five years of hostilities, the United Nations says at least 250,000 have died and millions of Syrians have fled.
